She looks like a female version of Gabe
650 miles?
And no one stopped her when she stopped to get gas?
Although Dylan tried to talk her out of the road trip
I'll bet he did
dedicated? Seems more like 'flat out insane'. She's only 13 yet is willing to STEAL a car and an ATM card and drive seven hundred miles to meet some guy she met on the xbox. She has to be some sort of nutcase, surely
13 is a little young to go calling someone a flat out nutcase.
Ha, I met my partner on steam. We've been living together for over a year now.
There is hope!
It ain't hard to drive actually.
And if you have a newer car, you have a lesser chance of being pulled over. And if you see a hambeast in a driving wheel, you would think that she is pretty old already.
I would have to steal a plane or a boat
I just don't see the point of these things, does she really lack the foresight to see what happens after she would make it to her "boyfriend's" home? Does she really think that after stealing her mom's debit card and her brother's car that she can just get away with it scott free? Did she just expect to take Dylan out of his life so they can live 12/13 year old adventures? That's something I'd expect from an 8 year old.
Desperation gone mad!
What's impressive is that she managed to go 700 miles without crashing or getting pulled over. She drives better than many license-holders!
She needs her license handed over early. She's proven she's capable of safely driving already.
And if you have a newer car, you have a lesser chance of being pulled over.
Explain why the cops ignored this tired old beast despite not having current tags, not having a muffler, having a cracked windshield, and smelling like a rolling gas station because the carb's out of whack for six months.
Cops are far more likely to pay attention to newer cars than they are to older ones. They see a rotten old heap like mine they're only going to pull it over if the wheel's about to fall off or if it's throwing up a smokescreen that's making it difficult for other drivers to see. Basically only if it's a hazard to other motorists. They otherwise don't pay a damn bit of attention to them.

Adolescence is a complicated time, and it treats people differently.
fat jokes aside this is pretty impressive. i would never have the balls to do that.
yep because you really feel true love when meet some randomer on the xbox
Clearly, yes you can.
650 miles?

All (or at least every one I've ever been to) Gas Stations in the US are self-service, and it's not uncommon for a parent to send their child in to pay for the gas.
Those 2 things put together, it more likely than you think for her to get as far as she did.
Fuck, that's like driving from where I live in Wales to Milan
i actually laughed out loud once i read this and saw their ages
It would be romantic if the girl was attractive...
Yes, because her being attractive would've been a great excuse for her to do something that is incredibly fucking insane.
So not only was she able to drive on a freeway without crashing, but she also had the foresight to even swap her brother's license plate with her neighbors before leaving?
Pretty smart for such a stupid plan...
650 miles? fuckin ey, how'd she manage that

I met my boyfriend on a match of BF:BC2, flew 1900km to meet him and we've been quite happy together for the last 8 months, we'll be moving in together soon.
This is why all cars should have manual transmission, I'd like to see a 12 year old drive even 10 feet without stalling :v:
lol.

My father has noticed that now he drives around in a 2002 Chrysler Voyager, he has been pulled over less than when he was driving around in older cars or his 1988 (I think) trailer/tow truck/whatever.
Cops usually want to bust people, so they take cars that they know would have old check times and whatnot. Cars where they have a higher possibility of finding a problem.
700 miles, how long did it take her? Atleast 24h I would guess. Or well, somewhere close. She must have been really tired after that.

This is beyond cruel, as most people in america can't even drive an automatic. Making them drive manual is crying for nothing but accidents.
#BadIdea

Not that hard when somebody has teached you. My father let me and my sister drive around some old fields in some cars sometimes. Of course, he was sitting next to us and helping, but still.
Ehh, he teached me to park and drive into a garage and reverse and stuff like that. Turning around in tight places and so. In an old Nissan Bluebird with close to no brakes, I think one of the front ones worked, both back ones were cut. I am 14 though.
But usually a random 12 year old won't usually know how to drive.

Makes for a really good antitheft device though.

Not to mention, majority anti-owner.
Honestly, have you been around the Illinois area? If not, good, even being near Chicago in rush hour is like asking you want to die, here and now.
Don't even bother getting into a taxi, either. Ever played Crazy Taxi? That game ain't got shit on the real life taxis in Chicago. True facts.
I've only ever been to Washington, California, Idaho, and Oregon. I've driven in each of those except California. (Incidentally in a manual as well.) I'd assume rush hour is probably far more infurating and dangerous than it is here. Here you're lucky to even reach 25mph no matter what the speed limit is during rush hour and you've got tons of people who have no regard for others on the road.
