countering it in threads is far less effective than countering it by posting those in their own threads

To be fair, the first two stories are unverified hearsay. And the last one is still being debated in court.
A court-appointed lawyer for Robin Rhodes, the man accused of assaulting a Muslim airline employee, said Thursday that the details surrounding the case have been blown out of proportion.
The defense lawyer said it is his understanding that Delta employee Rabeeya Khan might not have been injured at all by his client.
"What I understand is that this thing was overblown, number one. Number two, if this woman was injured at all, Mr. Rhodes did not intentionally injure her at all," P. Scott Dufault, Rhodes' court-appointed attorney in Queens, said.
boy i sure hope Trump appoints a good Secretary of Education to fix that!
You know, it's a middle school fight between middle schoolers. If it wasn't for the Trump hat nobody would give the faintest fuck. I'm anti-Trump myself but I can safely say that during middle school we kicked the shit out of each other for any reason we could find. Shit I remember getting tossed into a chain link fence and called a gaybo because I was wearing white trainers.
I don't condone child v child violence but at the same time this is nothing incredibly extraordinary.

Not just American. I got held in at lunch every day for fighting back against a kid who was stomping my ribcage. Fucker pinned me down and kept stomping on me, so I twisted his ankle and then punched him in the bollocks. But apparently because I didn't have any lasting bruises and his ankle was achy for the rest of the day, I was the one at fault. I still have trouble with my ribs and chest muscles to this day because of that.

This is an internet forum.
If there's a kind of thread that you want but no ones made it, make it yourself. There is no one to blame other than yourself for you not researching and making threads YOU want to see.
I'm not justifying a kid being attacked for it, but after seeing this many stupid threads over it I wanted to counter this "innocent trump supporters are always the victims" bullshit.
That's not what the thread is saying? This thread is saying a kid punched a kid and one of them wore a MAGA hat. Honestly it's not really fucking news but hey anything even mildly political in America sells like hotcakes right now.
Frankly if I was the parent of the victim, I wouldn't let him wear that hat outside the house. Punish the kids who beat him and the parents who don't teach them to use violence only in self defense or in defense of someone who can't defend themselves.
maybe abuse the zero-tolerance policy by turning tables and absolutely destroying the person assaulting you.
maybe abuse the zero-tolerance policy by turning tables and absolutely destroying the person assaulting you.
Agreed. What's the point of taking the high road when you're going to get in trouble anyway?
What I don't get is why the parents allowed (or encouraged) their kid to wear a MAGA hat to school. I get that Trump is the president but come the fuck on, influencing your child politically at such a young age is fucking disgusting. When I was 13 I was a petulant little shit who had no idea about any political spectra, and any opinions I had were bollocks and were not conducive to me becoming a good human being.
Even now I barely fucking understand politics. Why would you politicize your child's life at such an early point in development? Especially one so tumultuous as the preteen years? Jee-zus christ.
I wish that one day this would just stop altogether. Terrible.
Why not make those pieces of news a separate thread instead of posting it in here?
I, and probably others don't want sh filled up with some sort of war of articles of people on either side of the aisle getting beat up. It would be super lame.
Is anyone else disgusted when they hear kids pushing political views?
Doesn't matter to me if it's a kid wearing a MAGA hat or a kid saying Trump's a cunt, I just want people to keep their children away from politics, they really aren't mature enough for it
How about teaching kids early to be open to others' opinions and being willing to explore deep ideas in an honest, friendly way? It kind of frightens me how often people argue for keeping kids in the dark because they're not mature enough. How are they supposed to mature if you're literally hiding things from them?

You really shouldn't wear those hats ever, especially when you're some school kid.
You really shouldn't wear those hats ever
why?
Explain why that would matter in this situation.
Explain why a middle school fight matters.
do you people actually think kids are only political because of their parents and don't give a shit otherwise??? im wondering if you even remember middle/high school or if you just have some major cognitive dissonance

I remember that myself and my peers, at that age, had a very poor understanding of politics (some still do). Mostly uttering things told to them on social media feeds or their parents. I remember when I was in high school in Canada, when I asked "Why should Obama be president?" I got responses like "He just should!" or "He mixes up the status quo of old white men as presidents." never detailing anything about what they support about his policies.
So, he was suspended even though he is the victim?

Wearing a MAGA hat around hispanic children isn't terribly bright or thought out.
it doesn't fucking matter whether a trump supporter attacked or was attacked, both attackers shouldn't be fucking doing it
Oh man, don't mess with the kid now since he brought along his friend.

Well, make threads about it if you want to. Tudd is very obviously pushing an agenda here, but his articles aren't against the rules. There's nothing stopping you from posting threads to counteract his narrative.
So, he was suspended even though he is the victim?

We don't really know the full details. If he threw a single punch, regardless of who started it, then a suspension is pretty much a given within the US public school system. Hell, even if he is seen as provoking or taunting the person who attacked him, he could still be held liable for his part of the scuffle. Our zero tolerance policies are extremely unforgiving, as the name suggests. If you are a party to a fight, in any capacity, you're getting punished. As you can imagine, these policies get a lot of criticism.

I think for the most part I just post news that nobody else would have posted on here.
People who insistently post commentary/speculative news stories on every possible Trump failing appears to be driven just as me to post that side, but yet they are not labeled with an "agenda". Nor would I even accuse them of that.
People simply post the news that interests them and want others to see. The only narrative crafting that goes on is whenever you don't get both sides of the news or purposely not seek the counter views.

Actually just getting attacked will get you suspended. Even if you literally stand stiff as a board you will be suspended.

I accuse people of posting content they seek and interests them the most.
And just like them, I don't sit with a plan/goals that would constitute an Agenda. Just posting content I want people to see on here.

Well you keep posting the interesting articles about random people getting punched, and we'll keep posting interesting articles about the current administration so intent on creating a corrupt corporate oligarchy you'd think they were the world's most dedicated cyberpunk enthusiasts.

The worst thing about any of these fights you see on the bus is the bus almost always does absolutely NOTHING to stop it. These type of things can easily be prevented by stopping the bus, and telling them to cool it.

I think that's the heart of the issue people are raising. 90% of the forum sees through these kind of posts for the narrative they're trying to push and we're getting to the point that we're tired of getting bullshitted (not that the news is fake, but rather that when you present enough articles with the same bias it starts to paint an inaccurate picture, as has been mentioned). But the only solution being offered is to present an equally bullshit counter-narrative by posting loads of articles with the opposite bias.
I honestly wonder if we're actually consuming all this information or if it's just a stupid and pointless "game" at this point.

I hear you, but there's really nothing we can do about it here. Broader societal problem, etc. Obviously Tudd's narrative here is there is an epidemic of political violence against Trump supporters, but clearly that's actually a two way street. I can't rightly enforce the "correct" narrative, so all I can really do is advise folks to counter it in whichever way seems most appropriate to them. If only one half of the story is being presented, present the other half.
Otherwise, as you say, all we can really do is try to keep reality in mind here.

I think you're being more than a little disingenuous. People posting articles, even fairly speculative or unconfirmed reports, about the President of the United States is to be expected. That is serious news that effects the entire world. Agenda or no, it's big news with far reaching consequences. I simply can't say the same about your onslaught of articles about Trump supporters getting beat up.
Yes, it's tragic, it's stupid, it should not be happening, but it's not a one way street -- political violence does not only target the right wing. It would be interesting to see, of course, whether or not there's actually a higher rate of political violence this election cycle compared to previous ones, but your slew of isolated incidents doesn't prove a trend on its own, nor does it prove a single thing about your political opposition.
Basically, posting about Trump and his administration's controversies is focusing on the specific players, policies, and events that are shaping our nation and the world. All you're doing is attempting to generalize and discredit the left as some singular entity by posting every story you can scrounge up about random individual knuckleheads acting like fools. Not that there aren't plenty of other folks doing the same thing on both sides of the aisle, naturally -- I'm just responding to your specific criticism.
some middle schooler got in a fight with another middle schooler... let's be real here, this is the malign influence of george soros at work
