This could be the reason why Anime characters have eyes the size of baseballs.
Oooooh.
This could be the reason why Anime characters have eyes the size of baseballs.
I think that's kind of hot, but whatever. incoming boxes
That article almost read like a bork'd record plate, repeating itself every sentence or two
Also, remotely interesting is that apparently this guy... ...is a stereotypical American.
Their politeness is ingrained in their culture... Wait a minute, is that Lt. Surge? That does make sense.
This is true, Asians are generally extremely xenophobic and racist and will believe any stereotype they hear about people from other countries or different races in a heartbeat. not wanting to start a shitstorm
For someone who doesn't want to create a shitstorm you sure said a lot of bullshit.
This is true, Asians are generally extremely xenophobic and racist and will believe any stereotype they hear about people from other countries or different races in a heartbeat. not wanting to start a shitstorm
So....all asians are xenophobic, gullible, and racist?
Well this is a pretty interesting discovery. Never thought race can be related to the brains and the way things look.
because asians can't see the whole face lolol
Well it's a good thing I'm part Filipino and not some other Asian race, we're literally the Mexicans of Asia because of our Spanish past.
Well it's a good thing I'm part Filipino and not some other Asian race, we're literally the Mexicans of Asia because of our Spanish past.
We're actually more like islanders than Spanish, but yeah you can say that :v:
We're actually more like islanders than Spanish, but yeah you can say that :v:
But I still hate it how some people consider us Asian and all the stereotypes still apply to us even though we're entirely different in a sense. In standardized testing, Filipino is separate from the Asian category when you're checking out which ethnicity you are. And lots of us get mistaken for being Mexican or something else.
Human-races interpret things diffrently
. Humans spell correctly.....not really.
But I still hate it how some people consider us Asian and all the stereotypes still apply to us even though we're entirely different in a sense.
But I still hate it how some people consider us Asian and all the stereotypes still apply to us even though we're entirely different in a sense. You have to list your ethnicity on standardised testing? Why would you be required to do that?
Always one person spamming dumb ratings.
What? You have to list your ethnicity on standardised testing? Why would you be required to do that?
It's supposed to be used for statistics and census taking.
Didn't some other scientist say this, and then he got hounded and had to apologise? And I really hope this doesn't just turn into some Asian eye joke thread.
No, he was interpreted to have said black people were inherently dumber than white people or something, but then he came out and said that the media had completely turned around what he said and that's not what he meant at all.
I swear they pulled this out of their asses.
Seems like bullshit to me, I would still put this down to cultural differences.
Seems like bullshit to me, I would still put this down to cultural differences.
You can rule that out because emotion and facial expression interpretation are learned by the brain alone, without assistance like with language. It's not like parents tell their child how to read expressions.
You can rule that out because emotion and facial expression interpretation are learned by the brain alone, without assistance like with language. It's not like parents tell their child how to read expressions.
They learn by viewing their expressions around them. No-one develops expression by themselves, such a thing is logically impossible.

I don't know who that guy is but as soon as I saw him I thought "Pokemon."
human-races it's human culture bro there's no gene for reading expressions ugh
Explain to me why mental disorders, Alzheimer's, memory-impairments, learning-disorders, aren't genetic. Explain to me how the hypocampus isn't hard-coded to have an updating internal map of one's surroundings. Finally, explain to me why you think, or better yet, how you know genes don't influence behavior. Because maybe they do? Maybe sitting there and being politically correct... might actually be incorrect?
They learn by viewing their expressions around them. No-one develops expression by themselves, such a thing is logically impossible.
not talking about expressions. (which are actually largely instinctual by the way) Talking about reading them.
Hey guess what, You're not funny :buddy:
I'm asian and i laughed
Explain to me why mental disorders, Alzheimer's, memory-impairments, learning-disorders, aren't genetic.
Alzheimer's not genetic? Where did you get this ridiculous statement from. And mental disorders, memory-impairments and learning-disorders span a wide gamut so please, read up on these conditions.
Explain to me how the hypocampus isn't hard-coded to have an updating internal map of one's surroundings.
Because the Hypocampus develops over age? I don't even understand the question, and by the way you ask it, neither do you.
Finally, explain to me why you think, or better yet, how you know genes don't influence behavior.
Because there's no scientific proof of it? And I never said genes don't influence behavior. I said genes that involve race don't influence behavior, that's a big thing difference.
Because maybe they do? Maybe sitting there and being politically correct... might actually be incorrect?
I'm not being politically correct, I'm being logically and scientifically correct. You give me outstanding proof that understand expressions is genetic (aside from your obviously flawed "what I know about psychology and neurology") and then maybe I'll be inclined to believe anything you say. However, attacking my position on the subject won't get you anywhere. [editline]11:22PM[/editline]
not talking about expressions. (which are actually largely instinctual by the way)

Talking about reading them.
They likely understand not only emotions but the cause and effect of them. People who don't spend much time around other people will obviously not read emotions too well.
OH GAWD
In other words, this may explain why everything in japan is so frigging weird - it may be genetic differences in our brain. On the bad side, it gives people an excuse to be racist.
this is cultural not genetic you idiot
this is cultural not genetic you idiot
Yeah, that postulate doesn't really explain why weird smelly anime tards exist of all colours and sizes.
*edited - late* what Chippay said ^ ^ ^
Asian people see life in widescreen.
Lucky me. I see everything in 1680 x 1050. It's fucking awesome. Put some HD glasses on and I am my own HDTV.
