Im stuck at 50-55 it sucks.
I read in time magazine that 1 in 3 children are obese in America. I honestly don't know where these people are getting all different statistics, did they go and seek out every single kid in America and weigh them?

Yet another facepuncher not familiar with the concept of polling

yet another douchebag who thinks he's funny. And who also doesn't understand that polls don't always reflect what they're polling. It seems like these guys just walked down the street and counted how many fat kids they saw and made a tally. Unless they actually find some way to weigh every kid in America, I highly doubt 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 or whatever they're spouting at the time is really the true number.
Fat enemy soldiers in videogames anyone?
You know why our country lags behind in education? We take it upon ourselves to educate EVERYONE to the same level, where as other countries gladly let the stupid people drop mainstream education and go to techschools. Because we don't specialize, we get fucked.
fat and fucked... could someone tell me why the rest of us are led by these guys?... oh yeah, they've taken all the bombs.
yeah, fat jokes in europe often includes American. what does this mean to an american with some knowledge of trends and psycoligical analysis? that there are so many fat americans that we barely notice our own fat people in comparison to yours. you shouldn't be so busy disproving exaggerated polls and numbers, you should be conserned about where your collective lifestyle seems to lead you. in 100 years America will be known as the country of Blob.
Wendy's, MCDonalds, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, "in here, we feed you wrecked cars" do you have any idea how many are addicted to this? i know YOU aren't, but too many are and that's undeniable. flaming and fleeing from it won't make it a lie.
This is why EU Will rule the world!

No, that's fucking not how polls work.
Polling is a science. There comes a point in any poll where surveying more people DOES NOT increase the accuracy of the results. If it was a scientific study you can rest assured that they took the biggest sample necessary and that the results are accurate.

Don't listen to any statistic until the census. And even then, I'm quite sure it isn't getting obesity information, and even if it did the standard for obesity is somewhat gray.

IF it is. I hate how people always assume polls = reality. Polls are just that, polls. Also the accuracy counts on how the sample was taken, and I doubt if someone called up and said, "Oh hai, we're doing a poll and we're wondering if your child is obese" that most parents would be willing to answer or answer truthfully.
Also, just wondering, it doesn't say in the article where this group got its numbers. It just says, "the group says...".

Why the fuck is the census the only accurate poll?
Protip: because it's not and you're wrong

Polling science takes that into account as well. It's what margins of error are for.
Fat kids could have an advantage.
Stuff bombs in there fat and send them into the front lines.
They aren't too fat to serve...
...as human shields for the guys in the back, that is. Their flab can probably soak up quite a bit of bullets.

It's called a confidence interval. Obviously the results won't reflect the EXACT value. But then again, they don't need to.
