Then Ireland invades to unite /s
Real talk for a minute, Irish Independence is probably one of the most stupid and unnecessarily violent conflicts in recent history. just saying.
Ireland should just join the uk itself, no reason for there to be a split in the first place, it's blind patriotism
But getting away from this shithole is the reason I'm going to move down south in the first place I don't want to live under a country where David Cameron can be reelected
Ireland should just join the uk itself, no reason for there to be a split in the first place, it's blind patriotism
What
Yes, because we totally loved being oppressed by a foreign power for 800 years. I think if the North wants to stay in the UK, let them. But we'd rather not, thanks.

why would ireland want to join the UK? [editline]13th September 2015[/editline]
what the hell is that to do with anything lmao
partition was argued and fought over since the late 18th century. the famine was indeed still fresh in most irish minds. it has everything to do with why partition came about. if a majority population doesn't want to be part of the UK, then it's everything inside their right. nothing to do with patriotism. same applies to northern ireland not wanting to be part of Ireland.
Ireland should just join the uk itself, no reason for there to be a split in the first place, it's blind patriotism
Naaaah, we're good. Our politicians are utter retards, but I'd rather Enda Kenny than David Cameron.
Bring the colonies back too pls

I mean what are you driving at here, the Republic of Ireland is an independent country, why are you saying it "should" be. Everybody here agrees that the North should choose what they want for themselves. I think people are just getting a little off track after a few incredibly dense posts above.
yeah I'm just getting confused about what the hell a bunch of the earlier posts were about, whatever lol

[editline]13th September 2015[/editline] which is really not hard to grasp tbh
Ireland's economy is shit, people are dying to get across the border for the uk and trying to get British passports. Can anyone say the same for ireland? As far as I'm aware it's nowhere near the same scale, a lot of people are also using it as a buffer point to get to the north. Strength in unity

I'm getting really confused at who's being sarcastic and who's being serious in this thread.
I have a feeling that most people have no idea what they're talking about and are just making snap judgement based on the most simplistic understanding of a long and complicated history. In relation to the actual news article, I would prefer if the DUP just fucking pulled out rather than pseudo-pulling out to deliberately make nothing possible.

Strength in unity
and britain should just unify with germany so you can benefit from their stronger economy you have to realise how stupid that sounds
Strength in unity
isn't that the catchphrase of the baddies in the "v for vendetta" movie?
England prevails!
That guy is probs a troll
