God who cares about disposable income when you live a good life. You don't have to buy pointless shit to distract you from your crappy life when you don't have a crappy life. And the middle class is shrinking in America, not getting better off. And no, we rank worse because our health care is poorer.
Well to speak for myself I get splendid healthcare here in the states. You get what you pay for.
Well to speak for myself I get splendid healthcare here in the states. You get what you pay for.
And therein lies the problem. The people that can't pay get worse healthcare and live worse lives, which makes us a shittier nation. Having a large portion of our populace being poor and sick because of it is not an admirable quality. e: also I just realized, you're an idiot, the Scandinavian countries aren't getting worse off, other countries are getting better. Like the top 20 all had a net gain from last year.
what strider is really trying to say is, "fuck you got mine"
A free market allows every man to make something of himself without the burden or shackles of another. What I'm saying is I've got mine you too can get yours.
Strider you're an embarrassment. Every post you make makes me more glad that I left the US.
Glad to here it, you're probably a leech regardless. I love how you have no arguments of your own but rather stick to copious amounts of ad hominem to spice up and signify your resent for me.
It's sad because you know most of the population believes that stuff, even the poor. Republican propaganda ftw folks.
As if I would ever consider myself or any of my viewpoints affixed to the Republican party. Currently both of the parties in the United States are deplorable.
Oh you're a Randist.
Don't use that term it just makes you sound ignorant, objectivist and yes.
lol....
Don't use that term it just makes you sound ignorant, objectivist and yes.
Objectivism is the pretty much cult from Ayn Rand, so yes, you're a Randist/Randian
Objectivism is the pretty much cult from Ayn Rand, so yes, you're a Randist/Randian
No Objectivism is a philosophy set forth by Ayn Rand. It is the evolution of Aristotelian philosophy and is subject to the rationality it demands. The cultists of Objectivists are not true Objectivists as they follow her ideas based on the whims of feeling and not a logical determination of how and why the philosophy functions.

You have your head way too far up your ass. Capitalism and America aren't as perfect as you make it out to be.
What's there to say that already hasn't been said already? You have your head way too far up your ass. I've got a fever and the only prescription is more capitalism.
Is that a serious post
It is the evolution of Aristotelian philosophy and is subject to the rationality it demands.
do you even know the meaning of what you just said or did you just string together some things what is your interpretation of aristotelian philosophy exactly?
Well to speak for myself I get splendid healthcare here in the states. You get what you pay for.
You just showed yourself the huge problem with capitalism: It fucks you over if you have the slightest problems with your job. If you get hurt and can't continue? TOO BAD LAWL, WORK HARDER capitalsim 4 lyfe
All rich people are geniuses who achieved everything they had through hard work and owe nothing to the rich parents who bought them Ivy League educations.
A free market allows every man to make something of himself without the burden or shackles of another. What I'm saying is I've got mine you too can get yours.
strider, any system calls for people at the bottom rung of society. someone needs to flip patties and clean toilets and dig ditches, right? society wouldnt function without these people we tend to look down upon. why not give them some benefits for it?
A free market allows every man to make something of himself without the burden or shackles of another. What I'm saying is I've got mine you too can get yours.
No it allows every man born into wealth to make something of himself much easier than someone born into poverty. [editline]4th March 2011[/editline] Lemme guess, middle/upper-middle class white kid?

[editline]4th March 2011[/editline] Lemme guess, middle/upper-middle class white kid?
He's probably going to say he's lower class, just like glaber, just like so many of the conservatives that post here. There all "lower class".
He's probably going to say he's lower class, just like glaber, just like so many of the conservatives that post here. There all "lower class".
they are probably considered "lower class" in the rich class
He's probably going to say he's lower class, just like glaber, just like so many of the conservatives that post here. There all "lower class".
Was it Glaber or someone else who said they couldn't get into a better college because they were too poor but argued that everyone has an equal opportunity? Hell being who I am I realize I have an advantage over the majority so I'm not gonna pretend that everyone has an equal opportunity to better themselves. It's fucking tragic they don't have the same opportunities I did to succeed in school and in life and it pisses me off when people try to claim the rich are only rich because they worked harder than everyone else. It's bullshit. [editline]4th March 2011[/editline] It's kinda how in the antebellum South the whole reason that the majority of whites who were poor and owned no slaves defended the institution of slavery, were racist, and put up with having no education opportunities was because of all the bullshit the plantation owners fed them about their potential to one day be as rich as they were and that it was the poor whites' fault they weren't rich. Then said plantation owners got them to join the army by feeding them the bullshit that they were defending themselves from aggression.
No, that was someone else. I don't remember his name though. As for the rest of the post, yeah it's pretty funny and sad how the average person will support stuff that goes against his own interest.
Except for the fact Canada has a smaller population than a U.S. state, and the fucking fact that until 1982 it was still a colony of the United Kingdom
Not really.
He's probably going to say he's lower class, just like glaber, just like so many of the conservatives that post here. There all "lower class".
my family is incredibly conservative and they are low class. there is a lot about conservatism that appeals to poor people. it focuses on the fruit of your own labor, that you keep what you earn as a person, and that you alone are in control of your fate they view liberalism as giving people who dont deserve it the payoffs that you worked for, its about giving the "degenerates" of society equality with you. have you noticed a lot of conservative argument against healthcare is "now drug dealers and criminals are going to be getting my money" conservatism has a lot to give to poor people to hope for, and in some ways the ideals give more equality than liberalism. because now everyone is on the equal footing of how smart they are and how hard they work thats my rant about conservatism
Well to speak for myself I get splendid healthcare here in the states. You get what you pay for.
Hmmm... Would I rather take the chance of being poor and getting fuck all for healthcare, or would I rather have guaranteed healthcare that is going to be good enough for 99.99% of cases. I'm not gonna lose sleep over missing out on marginally better healthcare that I can't afford anyway.
I mean the constitution was still in Britain up until 1982 but it was effectively a country all on it's own long before then.
