Something that I have always found difficult to understand is this: If a particle in the collider is traveling at .9C, and the Earth is spinning at 465.1 m/s, while orbiting the sun at 107,200 km/h, and all of this in turn is spinning around the galaxy at dickshattering speeds, doesn't that somewhere add up to more than C? Could any of our FP physicists clear it up for me?
Not how relativity works. If you're going in a ship flying at 1.5*10^8 m/s and you have a torch, the light the torch emits will be going at 3*10^8 m/s for you, and at 3*10^8 m/s to someone that's standing still outside the ship. Weird concept to understand, but that's how it is.

Just try not to make another Big Bang in the process
Just try not to make another Big Bang in the process
Sucks that the Dumbest Post of 2011 isn't accepting nominees anymore.
Yep. Everyone who rated this agree And this disagree Should go and educate themselves about the scientific method.
I didn't actually realise what Jookia was getting at with his post but now I understand his point, they proved that the aether doesn't exist (and a guy almost went nuts trying to prove the opposite - you can't beat reality, unfortunately)
