that's actually exactly what I was thinking of when I typed that :v:
never really finished that game, not sure what made me stop
Hey look, another generic FPS
Hate to say it but I kinda have to agree with you.
Not really seeing anything besides graphics that distinguishes this as any different than Bad Company 2.
You know, BF3 may look like any generic FPS. But there is just something that makes it awesome, the visuals, the animation, the sound effects. The amount of immersion in this game is stunning and because of that, I don't even care if it looks generic. Also excited for Co-op.

Eh, not that amazing at all really. It's all smooth and everything but it's not really anything new at all. Multiplayer is gonna be roughly the same, so basically Battlefield 3 is gonna disappoint. I'm seeing it as BC2 with jets, which is awesome, but still disappointing.
But what did you really expect? It's like Battlefield 2 Extreme Overhaul Edition? That's really how far FPS can go as of now. Unless there is one company that is willing to do a FPS based on Counter-Terrorism instead of war.
The campaign looks generic because it's filled with scripted events and "follow" objectives. Multiplayer will be much different, I assure you. We'll have large open maps, squads, tanks, APCs, jets, helicopters, and everything that made BF2 great plus some of the added benefits of BF3. Who really cares if they removed the magazine ammo count system? BF2 was never trying to be realistic, only trying to slow down the pace a bit. The difference in gameplay that changing the ammo system makes is negligible since you still need to travel a distance to the capture points and work together in squads. You should also probably quit arguing until they release some multiplayer footage, then we can see for ourselves if it lives up to its predecessors.
Audio's good.
Audio's good.
DICE always does a good job with the audio.
Hoping they add in vehicle combat into the singleplayer! Oh and 1 thing that bugged me was the m4s. The ones without any ironsight bugs me. Really hope that's just for the alpha. Also, they should add some weapon attachments(I know people are going to complain of it because COD has it, but I'll like a little customization to the guns. Simple attachments like scopes, suppressors and bipods will do.)
i dont like it
Quite possibly one of the best looking games to date.
Seems this one's gonna split the fanbase at this rate, if it didn't already; people either have confidence in DICE that this will be a solid Battlefield title, or they think it'll just be Duty Calls: Modern Warfarce 3.
We'll just have to see later trailers and the final content, now won't we? v:v:v
I haven't seen any good looking games besides BF3 and Crysis 2.
BF3 looks like Bc2, i wont buy that shit
PLA? doesn't that the People's Liberation Army like from BF2!

I guess someone doesn't read through the thread.
That's the Alpha version of the game
I really wish I wasn't thinking this but Singleplayer looks...very generic, I mean, it looks good and all, especially graphics wise, but the only thing I found appealing was those animations (I hope they are just animations and not scripted events) when a car blows up next to you and you fall down, and etc. Other than that it looks the same as BF2 but with better graphics. Don't get me wrong, I hate CoD and I am more singleplayer focus than multiplayer, but it just looks...generic.
I really wish I wasn't thinking that.
This game isn't even out till November, and it already looks like one of the best games I've ever seen.
Sgt. Black? Jackson? Why can't we get creative with names? Tired of seeing the same surnames and all that.
Well, my last name is White :v:
It's sad to know that I don't have the hardware to play this. Same goes for BC2. The game engine is just too demanding.
"Spinza meat market."

Graphics looks amazing, but looks a tiny generic. I dunno, I'm of sick of the setting all modern FPS games seem to be taking these days.
But alas, it's only a singleplayer preview.

I read that the singleplayer is also set in New York and Paris. That's something new to me. Especially le France.
mite be cool
I hope they have balanced snipers in MP, or limited sniper positions, I'm so fucking fed up with legions of bushwookies sitting on hills and camping their ass off, while the even dumber ones rush tanks and try to quickscope them.
i love the way people rate someone dumb for saying BF3 dont look good.
EA Games should pay you for doing it.
DICE always does a good job with the audio.
Even Battlefield Play 4 Free has better audio than most games.
Looks nice if a little similar to BC2 but could do with some basic blood effects at least.
That's my opinion, anyway.
I personally hope the multiplayer goes back to what 1942 was like. Haven't played BF2 so I can't say if that was good.
But I liked the large scaled maps with players using what ever was on the field get bases. And the fact that everyone was restricted to the same classes with no stupid leveled unlocks.
I just don't like unlocks in games like these.
As for the single player. Can't say much other then that I hope we aren't a super soldier sent with a squad to do secret missions and win the war for our side such as in Bad Company 2 and recent COD games. I still prefer 1942's single player over what I said above.
All just my personal opinion.

No mod tools.
