And here we go again. Does recent history include American/Canadian/British involvement in Afghanistan Iraq, and Pakistan, the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, anything like that?
How can you compare the occupation of Gaza and its people to that.
There is no equivalent to what is happening here.
And here we go again. Does recent history include American/Canadian/British involvement in Afghanistan Iraq, and Pakistan, the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, anything like that?
But they did not build a huge ass wall around the Gaza Strip and the West Bank closing people in with no way out except with a permission that you can rarely get. They did not take over land and call it their own.
Whole lot of people criticized the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Even more when people found out the truth about Iraq not having any WMDs. The bombing of Yugoslavia was to stop the ethnic cleansing that was happening there after Josip Tito's death.
This is why I modded the shit out of the IDF in CSGO. I don't want to see those faggots in my game.

Don't want to be reminded that the game is based on real life horrors?
Why not get rid of every military then?
In fact. Why not replace all weapons with walkies-talkies? And put rainbows in the sky.

But now you can't kill those feggots

So what? More people, more innocent civilians died in any of these military actions that in anything Israel was ever involved in. More people die right now in Afghanistan and Pakistan. What does it matter what was the goal of each operation, or if people did or didn't find out if it was justified?
I am asking you how does anything Israel does have no equivalent in recent history. What makes us so fucking special?
Is it the wall? Is the wall worse than the 20,000 dead civilians in Yugoslavia? Than the million dead civilians in Iraq/Afghanistan/Pakistan? Than everyone ISIS is going to kill in Iraq and Syria because of it? A fucking wall? That's the worst war crime ever? Seriously?
"B-but they did it it too so its okay
Yes that's exactly what I said. thanks for summing it up.
I am saying as horrifying as this war is, and it is horrifying beyond belief, it is not the worst thing ever. It is not even the worst thing happening right now. That doesn't justify anything. Nothing can justify the death of innocents.
I just don't get those blanket statements of "no other country in history". The rest of the world does much worse, and I don't see 10 daily threads of dedicated hate for it here.
And here we go again. Does recent history include American/Canadian/British involvement in Afghanistan Iraq, and Pakistan, the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, anything like that?
Yes, it does. No, none of these compare to Gazan siege.

Care to explain why?
Besides, I was always against all of these conflicts, anyway, so your point is moot.
Care to explain why?
care to explain how they're the same?
I mean you're fucking comparing it to the UN intervention in Yugoslavia to stop the genocide there. How far removed from reality are you really?
And Iraqi war was against a dictator who had practically full control over the area. Afghanistan and Pakistan are the most comparable and still fall short as neither of these areas are held in what amounts to a blockade and cordoned off from vital supplies.

The UN intervention in Yugoslavia, regardless of justification, killed 20,000 civilians. They care as much abut how awesomely justified NATO was as the Palestinian kid in the UN school getting bombed because some asshole outside the window lobbed a mortar at someone.
Look, either we agree that regardless of justification military actions should not result in thousands of dead innocents, or we don't.
If justification counts, than there are a few hundreds of thousands of exploded civilians in Iraq/Afgahnistan/Pakinstan that would like to know why they rate less then Palestinians on the worst warcrimes ever scale. Plus I could always justify "our" victims with the usual rockets on israel and Hamas human shields thing.
Or it doesn't, and then were just stuck with a lot of horrible wars all over the world where tons of innocents get killed all the time.
Either way, I still don't understand how this conflict is any worse than any of the other ones. I honestly don't.
All wars are terrible.
All wars are unjustifiable.
We are all bastards.

The intervention killed 500 civilians not 20,000 lol
and saved so so many people from being exterminated.
The only real crime was that they didn't do it sooner and maybe more could have been saved.
But if somehow NATO bombing Yugoslavian forces taking part in ethnic cleansing makes you feel better about Israel brutalizing an open air prison w/e

Okay, now we're making progress.
Kindly explain how a blockade is objectively worse than two decades of military occupation and around half a million dead.

Yeah, I was wrong about the numbers. Sorry.
According to wikipedia:
In the course of the campaign, NATO launched 2,300 missiles at 990 targets and dropped 14,000 bombs, including depleted uranium bombs and cluster munitions. Over 2,000 civilians were killed, including 88 children, and thousands more were injured. Over 200,000 ethnic Serbs were forced to leave their homeland in Kosovo. NATO airstrikes destroyed more than 300 schools, libraries, and over 20 hospitals. At least 40,000 homes were either completely eliminated or damaged and about 90 historic and architectural monuments were ruined.
That's slightly more than the total victims of this conflict. For now, I guess.
By FP logic I guess NATO should have sent in ground forces to individually take out all the militants while sparing all those civilians and schools and hospitals.
And no it doesn't goddamn make me feel better. I feel sick to my stomach that this is happening.
How many times do I have to repeat that I'm not trying to justify this?
"All wars are horrible" doesn't imply "this war is awesome".

Kosovo is tens of thousands of square kilometers, Gaza strip is 360km^2. Again, not comparable.

So you're saying a heavily populated urban environment is easier to perform ground operations in with no collateral damage. Huh. Good to know.

The NATO campaign caused a fraction of the comparative damage than what Israel does in Gaza, and was actually accomplishing a serious objective of stemming the mass ethnic murder.
500 deaths in a country that has five times the population.

Once again, from wikipedia:

That's 2000 dead civilians.
Care to estimate the number of casualties if we bombed Gaza using "depleted uranium bombs and cluster munitions"? Gaza is obviously a bit more dense.
I don't know why Hamas doesn't ceasefire, but I still think Israel is @ fault.

but only less than 500 names of victims were ever presented.
That is why most credible sources list it as around 500. The 2000 on wikipedia is the maximum projected rate used.

The kid is sitting on the hood of the car, crying. The car's door is open. There's nothing being fired at anyone in this picture. This is so dumb.

This is a pretty well known photo, and that the police placed him on the car after the police were being targeted by rocks.

What's your point? How would you deal with Hamas then? Cut the crap with the number comparisons, as if it matters. Israel is committing war-crimes. So does ISIS in Iraq. Does it make you feel far better when you actually can criticize a government? When you can have a say?

I see no rocks. All I see is two cars standing out in the open, soldiers not even ducking their heads. Talking on the radio. The kid also seems pretty chill, when 'rocks are being thrown' at him.
