• Boris Johnson: some people are too stupid to get on in life

Sounds like something a Randroid might say. Maybe he just got round to reading the copy of Atlas Shrugged that Maggie lent him a decade ago.
Some people are lucky enough to be born into a position which means they don't need to worry about being too stupid to get along in life. These people can even become Mayor of London!
There's lots of inequality in nature. One man might live naturally for 90 years, another might die naturally aged 30. How you spend your time is the equalizer. You could die aged 30 having lived a life worth living, or die aged 90 having never truly lived. Likewise if you spend all your time watching TV, you're unlikely to ever be successful or good at anything.
Do you like, have to try and be ~deep~ about everything? What are you? Some kind of failing Philosophy bachelors student or something? It's super awkward.
isn't that basically social darwinism
He's sort of right though. No matter what you do, there'll be an upper class and an underclass; all you can do it try your best to minimise the gap. He just lacks the ability to speak without pissing somebody off. Not to suggest that I necessarily agree with him, I think we should do anything and everything that we can to achieve economic equality, but I don't know that it's actually possible.
Just to clarify on this, because I can see the dumbs starting to roll in; you could give everyone exactly the same start in life, and a divide will form. It may for because some people are more driven that others, because they're smarter, because they're more charismatic, or because they're more attractive. However, I still advocate giving everyone that same start.
Statists detected. Why should the state be allowed to take my money and give it to people that are to lazy to work.
Statists detected. Why should the state be allowed to take my money and give it to people that are to lazy to work.
Because it creates more utility in the long run.
Statists detected. Why should the state be allowed to take my money and give it to people that are to lazy to work.
because you're banned from facepunch you gave up your rights
Awful man with some disgusting opinions. I don't understand why people find him so endearing, I can only assume they know nothing about him.
Ayou don't put a clown in charge.
Maybe in your country
What if economical diffriences is a part of our human nature and nothing can truly break this natural order?
it is human nature to destroy natural orders [editline]29th November 2013[/editline]
It's true though. Just think about how stupid the average person is. Then think about how 49% of people are dumber than that person.
and think about how many people within that 49% have far more money and quality of life than you [editline]29th November 2013[/editline]
He's sort of right though.
Do you like, have to try and be ~deep~ about everything? What are you? Some kind of failing Philosophy bachelors student or something? It's super awkward.
Well he's got a decent point. Life is about perspective and Boris has a delusional/elitist one at best.
Money doesn't exist in nature so we can give it all the artificial equality we want, and we should if it results in an improved quality of life
Doesn't it technically do then, since humans are a part of nature?
So whose better, Ken Livingstone or Boris Johnson?
Boris is a hideous cunt but this is just the commmon sense not a surprise leftist facepunch disagrees then.
