ooo i hope that Mad Max-rumor is truem ive been fantasizing about one for quite a while. not sure if Avalanche is the right studio fotær it though, seeing how shallow Just Cause was. But maybe tjeyve leatærnt their lesson, and fetch some decent writers and voice-actors.
I hope Just Cause 3 fills their word with more interesting stuff to find.

Hopefully JC3 will be as impossibly well optimized as 2, the way JC2 ran was fucking amazing.
There's nothing wrong with complaining about how consoles using ancient hardware technology is legitimately holding back game design for PCs.
GJ you missed the point entirely.
Aaaand Microsoft will pull a dickmove with Windows 9 and completely disallow competing portable graphics API's
They tried that already with Vista, they claimed it wasn't compatible with the DWM, so had to make it render in software mode (Among other things). They got a ton of crap for it though, so they backed away from those plans.
They're going next gen on our wallets.
Fixed.
The dawn of a new age.
if they make a JC3 and make it not as awesome as this I'll cry
I cleaned my ass 5 minutes ago, now it's wet again
Nobody is implying games will become better with the new generation. They'll become bigger and more beautiful for sure though.
The post I quoted implied it.
Am I right in saying that this probably means I'm not going to be able to run Just Cause 3 on my current computer, as I can only run JC2 on medium?
Okay make sure to use opengl for the next gen consoles just so us pc users can finally get better game ports.
Okay make sure to use opengl for the next gen consoles just so us pc users can finally get better game ports.
If I recall correctly the PS3 will utilise both OpenGL and OpenCL.
If I recall correctly the PS3 will utilise both OpenGL and OpenCL.
The only console this generation that didn't use some derivative of OpenGL was the XBox 360, because it was MS attempting to get DX onto the console market. But the console versions of OpenGL aren't exactly compatible with the version we use on PC.
The Just Cause 2 PC version was fucking amazing. I have faith in these guys. Most devs are too lazy these days to even include more than one aspect ratio.

What the hell games are you lot playing to get this image that all developers are lazy sacks of shit that refuse to even test their games in most circumstances? I hear about "broken" games with "missing features" all the time, but I very rarely actually see or play a game that fits either of those categories.
They're going next gen on our asses
my ass is ready
Assassins Creed only supports 16:9 aspect ratio.
The first or the newest? Because if it's the first, I did hear the PC version was pretty iffy. But if it's the newest, Jesus fuck Ubisoft, get it together and start giving half a fuck for your AAA games.
Oh man, just cause 2 was beautiful and ran amazingly for the hardware it was on. I cant even imagine what they're gonna do with even better tech.
It'll make BF3's Ultra Settings look like Goldeneye.
Oh god those XDKs, ooooh~~ Loving the blue ones, those XNA are sexy as fuck. Too bad they cost 3k with the sidecar :l
It'll make BF3's Ultra Settings look like Goldeneye.
but is it Crysis?
kinda sad i wont be seeing a multiplayer just cause 3 on the ps3, gonna be a loooooong wait
It'll make BF3's Ultra Settings look like Goldeneye.
Why Frostbite 2? You should replace that name with "everything"
kinda sad i wont be seeing a multiplayer just cause 3 on the ps3, gonna be a loooooong wait
But why would you want that anyway? (Unless your PC is shit)
all of them BLACK BARS, 2012
"Hey pc gamers I know not everyone likes 16:9 aspect ratio but were forcing it down your throat. Don't like it? Here's some black bars that cover most of the screen."
"Hey pc gamers I know not everyone likes 16:9 aspect ratio but were forcing it down your throat. Don't like it? Here's some black bars that cover most of the screen."
yeah but a lot of other ports have it too though they're usually by shit publishers like 2k
Psst... hey, Avalanche... psssstttt... wanna get a head start on making next gen games? Develop for fucking PC it's already like 20 generations ahead.
