War never changes, even at the end of WWII when those fatefull words were muttered "Never Again". Those who lived through it had had enough, but as further generations were born they were thirsty for blood, and history has repeated itself. England has been to war with Afganistan three times, with all wars finishing in either a military victory with the Afgan's still being pretty powerful or a Armistice.
What makes britain and america think that this war will be any different. It will end in a mess just like all the 3 war's before. I respect the soldiers, what they do is important. There can be no denying that. But it remains that war is a human nature, ever since man could make spears out of bone he killed his fellow man. To maintain human peace would be harder than fighting wars. Ironically the only way to maintain human peace would be to fight a common enemy, a third party. Aliens.

yeah I remember when those innocent afghanistani civilians who are too poor to pay for medical care, let alone somehow sneak into the United States, attacked us
that was terrible

Never taught us about Alexander The Great.
I think the bigger story here is that the Taliban were able to hijack those two huge fuel trucks and drive off with them. Consider the implications of that. After all these years of war, if our side can't even defend basic supplies like fuel trucks(which would also make huge weapons in enemy hands) I'd say that's a bad sign.
Unless it's a setup. Unless the Taliban were suckered into taking the trucks, so that they could be bombed afterwards. After all, I'm sure coalition forces would know the Taliban would stick to those trucks like glue, long enough for an airstrike at least.
The same sort of thing happened to the Wolverines in Red Dawn.

Well didn't the 1992 LA Riot teach you, it isn't that hard to run up to a truck and drag the driver out.

Wait what. As far as i know Germany only has recon planes in Afghanistan. Oh well, they must have changed the mandate while i wasn't looking.

They made the call to the US airforce. They ordered the strike and the US Airforce carried it through.

Yeah because I was totally talking about them and not the terrorists.
The luftwaffe is still a part of germany's army :downs:

Heh, I thought they would've renamed it after WW2.
Heh, I thought they would've renamed it after WW2.
They only renamed the Wehrmacht and Navy.
Yeah because I was totally talking about them and not the terrorists.
These were Taliban, not terrorists. :bravo:
Silly Germans need to kill the baddies, not the civilians.

now you're just being silly
I like how everyone just disregards taliban as civilians just because they stole fuel.
No doubt it'd be an airstrike, if they can't have it no one can.
They deserved it.
These were Taliban, not terrorists. :bravo:
I was talking about the Al Qaeda who got us involved in the war in the first place.
One guy was complaining how war was when two countries disagreed, and how we could have sorted this stuff out through negotiations. We weren't the guys who drew the first blood here.
If you saw a car crash involving a truck outside your house, would you expect to get blown to shit and back for running to help? Or catch shrapnel for sitting and watching, even. Similar situations.
They may live in a warzone, but they do live there first and foremost.
Exactly. They live there and locals usually know their area the best. And thus they should know that there is war in their country and that it's full of terrorists and soldiers and other war stuff.
Seeing a fuel tanker, which is an object of strategical importance, standing around, stuck somewhere, with taliban guys with guns giving out fuel/people stealing fuel should seriously ring a bell to everyone with a little common sense and the awareness that he lives in a warzone.

Yeah well we all know the US didn't go to war because of 9/11.
Where's the fucking source?
Heh, I thought they would've renamed it after WW2.
Why? It literally means "airforce." Bundeswehr makes since because it means "Federal Defense Force" whereas Wehrmacht means "Defense Force," or " Defense Power." Kriegsmarine meant "War Navy" so keeping that would be stupid.
That'll teach those terrorists to hang out with real terrorists.
