Lightsabres are cool in moderation. It's not as cool if everybody is swinging them around all day.
It could be cool if done right. I really want a movie based in the Old Republic era.
I wasn't really aware that there's yet another new star wars
You will be getting a new Star Wars movie every year for God knows how many years. You have 2 more in the current trilogy, plus a Han Solo movie in between. Not sure if they already announced anything more.

It was dope. I know there is that meme headline going around that it's the first Star Wars to acknowledge it's a war and that is actually pretty true. It felt more like a war movie than a space opera like the mainline films. As someone said before the characters were largely forgettable except K2 and Donnie Yen who is only held up by his dope martial arts skills.
Boba fett spin off as well.
That is a rumour
That is a rumour
Hope is built on rumors
Boba Fett is overrated
Boba Fett is overrated
Star Wars is overrated
Boba Fett is overrated
If they make a film about him on par with Rogue One, then your statement will be wrong. And honestly, if Disney plans on making a Star Wars film every year, it WILL happen at some point.
Boba Fett is overrated
To be honest, the idea of a bounty hunter movie is something I very much would like to see in the Anthology spinoffs. But we'll see. I loved Rogue One though, [sp]just the idea that they decided to do what they did at the end there was absolutely astonishing and wonderful. I thought it was going to be that type of ending, but I thought there was no way they'd actually go through with that and I also loved the way Krennic's weapon got literally used against him. That freaking shot of him, helplessly seeing the first Death Star pointed towards the planet was absolutely amazing cinematography. Ohhh yes.[/sp]
For me, the best part of the film was [sp]at the end when Vader slaughters the rebels. Felt like a fucking horror film for a second there with how absolutely savage that was.[/sp]
That is a rumour
Well it's a rumour that it will be Boba fett but there's for sure a third spin off happening in 2020.
Saw it Thursday night and the IMAX theater was sold out, lucky I got in. The excitement in the air was palpable. I loved The Force Awakens, but Rogue One knocked it out of the park. Especially the last 30 minutes of the film. [sp] CG on Tarkin looked a bit wonky though in some scenes.[/sp] It makes me very encouraged for other anthology films.
I would prefer an obi-wan movie Gregor is the perfect age to play him right now

I keep seeing a lot of people saying that though. I wonder if it's just a lot more noticeable with IMAX?[/sp]

I'll go see a normal screening of it in a week or so with my mom and see if theres a difference.[/sp]
[sp]Tarkin looked unreal the first scene he was in, but after that he looked as real as any other actor[/sp]
[sp]I found his facial expressions and animations to be exaggerated[/sp]
[sp]the lighting in the first scene + it only being him and Krennic made the CGI stand out more[/sp]
[sp]Leia looked perfect, though. She looked more like Carrie Fisher than Carrie Fisher.[/sp]
I think it did everything well but it still felt like it was missing something. Lightsaber fights, maybe.
ya but we werent going to see lightsaber fights to begin with, buuuut [sp]still got to see jedi fighting[/sp] [editline]18th December 2016[/editline]
Storm troopers had no TR-8R
it did have the brother of porkins though
[sp]Leia looked perfect, though. She looked more like Carrie Fisher than Carrie Fisher.[/sp]
I feel confused thinking she looked hot

Also, I kinda love how we got some rather intense deaths in there. Like Bodhi's death actually kinda got to me because he saw it and just accepted it after all the shit he went through.[/sp]
For me, the best part of the film was [sp]at the end when Vader slaughters the rebels. Felt like a fucking horror film for a second there with how absolutely savage that was.[/sp]
[sp]That and the way the last couple of them start to panic as he gets closer, trying to get the door open then just handing the data through before getting fucked up.[/sp] [sp]And I like how we got to see rebel characters who weren't just the bastions of morality. Cassian's first scene has him comforting an informant who is all worried about getting caught, then blowing a hole through his back while whispering in his ear and not even giving him a second glance or a look of remorse. And Saw Gerrera is talked as being this hardcore extremist, which they show somewhat with his treatment of Bodhi. But I love the shot of him breathing through the mask and playing the exact same Vader breathing sounds to draw the parallel about him having gone to such an extreme that he's a similar character on the other side of the horseshoe.[/sp]
I loved it for the fact it didn't have lightsabers fights, the Force, or any other hokus pokus. Don't get me wrong- I'm the kind of guy who will always play a spellcaster in a RPG, loves the mysticism of the Force and more but I loved that this movie was about the completely normal people in the franchise who go ignored. It turns the fantasy trope of the young orphan realizing a great destiny and turns it upside down. Not everyone has some great destiny and will become heroes, it is like a J.K Rowling story was peer reviewed and edited by George R.R Martin. The battle scenes were spectacular, it captured the style of the Original Trilogy yet managed to give it the modern feel when [sp]you see the scenes with the Star Destroyers and space battles.[/sp] It ties into A New Hope perfectly, with a ending on par with The Empire Strikes Back.
I liked the [sp]admiral's clever plan towards the end[/sp] [sp]"get my least favourite corvette captain on comms"[/sp]
I thought the film was fantastic. I loved the force awakens, but Rouge one makes it look like shit in comparison. Points I really liked: [sp] Not seeing a light saber for the entire film, only to have vader slaughter an entire squad of rebels with one at the end.[/sp] [sp] A nod to the Imperial storm-trooper marksmanship academy trope, wherein they hint that the protagonists manage to survive being gunned down by storm-troopers, not through bad aim, but through the will of the force.[/sp] [sp] Some grey morality on the part of the rebellion [/sp] [sp] A nod to the Star wars rebels series, you can hear Hera being summoned via the intercom inside the Yavin base at one point. [/sp] [sp] A decent enough explanation for the much ridiculed death star vulnerability[/sp] [sp] That part where they almost start a fight with the idiots from the tatooine pub scene, while on jedha[/sp] [sp] Darth vader being a sassy cunt "Be careful not to "choke" on your aspirations" [/sp] [sp] darth vader's summer home[/sp] [sp] the fact the whole thing leads really neatly into a new hope[/sp] [sp] K2 [/sp]
[sp] darth vader's summer home[/sp]
Fun fact - that whole thing was suppose to be in Empire Strikes Back, but Lucas felt it was unnecessary since Vader was always on the ship. [sp]Although Lucas's original was suppose to have gargoyles flying around the castle...thank god they left that aspect out[/sp] :v:

[sp]The part I liked most about the film was Donnie Yen's character and his relationship with the force. He was a bit of a 'blind monk' stereotype sure, but the way he was able to feel the Force without really being able to do anything special with it was really interesting to me. It was like he believed in the Force, this mystical thing that seems totally out of place in such a bleak world, and nobody else did, and ultimately, he was right. He wasn't a fancy Jedi who could inspire people with his actual, flashy use of the Force, he was just a guy who was a little more in tune with the world than most other people, and he keeps getting reminded by his heavy gunner bro that it's going to be the death of him, and ultimately, it was, but at the same time, he was fine with it. I absolutely loved those characters and the way that he died in peace, despite everything. It was like the filmmakers fixed the most glaring issue of the end of Episode 3 for me, which is where Yoda TOTALLY RUINS Obi-Wan's sacrifice in ANH, with one line, Yoda to Obi-Wan: "it seems that your old master Qui-Gon discovered the secret to immortality"[/sp] :speechless: [sp]I don't want to get too caught up on this because I could write about it all day, but basically, the line that Obi-Wan has about "becoming more powerful than you can possibly imagine" if Vader strikes him down, for me at least, was never about him ascending to some eternal state of bliss or whatever. I always thought it was a very clever jab at Vader, saying that he could never understand what it would be to sacrifice yourself, to relinquish your own life and ultimately become at peace with the universe, and one with the force. Vader could never do that because he's selfish, as are all Sith. They are more powerful warriors but they lack true happiness and peace because they devote themselves entirely to the selfish pursuit of their own power. It was a very powerful message delivered in a subtle line about martyrdom, and then decades later Lucas ruined it all by essentially negating the sacrifice entirely, because Obi-Wan *knew* he could exist on as a ghost.[/sp]
[sp] A nod to the Star wars rebels series, you can hear Hera being summoned via the intercom inside the Yavin base at one point. [/sp]
There are two more references. [sp]the Ghost can be seen various times, a couple times landed at Yavin, and it appears in the battle above Scarif. Chopper can be seen in the background of the scene where Mon Mothma finds out about the attack on Scarif[/sp]
