Roy Moore refuses to concede; releases video statement condemning ‘abortion, sodomy and materialism’
Roy Moore refused to concede the Alabama senate election in a fiery video statement released Wednesday night in which he warned “the heart and soul of our country is at stake”.

“Today, we no longer recognize the universal truth that God is the author of our life and liberty,” the former Republican candidate said. “Abortion, sodomy and materialism have taken the place of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
He added: “Immorality sweeps over our land.”

Moore spoke from behind a shiny wooden desk, with a large statue of someone riding a horse and a decorative lamp in the background. In the statement, he quoted from Abraham Lincoln’s proclamation in March 1863 for a day of national humiliation, fasting and prayer.
He then transitioned smoothly from Lincoln’s call for more humility to Moore’s own proclamation of the ills of the US.
“We have stopped prayer in our schools,” Moore said. “We have killed over 60 million of our unborn children. We have redefined marriage and destroyed the basis of family, which is the building block of our country.”
He continued to rail against a litany of other issues, including transgender rights (“We have even begun to recognize the right of a man to claim to be a woman, and vice versa”), the economy and campaign finance.
Moore has long complained about these issues and was one of the most prominent opponents to same-sex marriage in the lead-up to its legalization. Prior to that, he attracted nationwide attention in a battle to keep a statue of the Ten Commandments in the rotunda of Alabama’s supreme court when he was its chief justice.
:tried:
Does he know that him not conceding doesn't actually matter the tiniest bit?
Interesting move, quoting Lincoln and talking about morality from a guy who idolizes slave times.
It's like watching a trainwreck in slow motion.
How about you pull a Dan Johnson, you sack of shit.

Maybe it's just me but I think opposing both abortion and sodomy is kind of at odds with each other.
It's like he's performing for an informational video titled "Recognizing toxic politicians 101"
Go sodomize yourself Moore.
I'm imagining him trying to get into the senator's office, throwing a fit when they won't let him in, and being escorted out of the building.

Don't be surprised if that happens.
Ah the old man yelling at cloud.
I can't help but think of this while reading through his statement :v:

That would make my week.
He's right though, immorality does sweep the land. Politicians creep on kids and the president brags about getting away with sexual harassment.
We have allowed judges and justices to rule over our Constitution, and we have become slaves to their tyranny.
He's right, any judges who violate the Constitution should be removed from office, twice if necessary
Probably the only way he could have damaged his reputation more was by coming off like an unhinged lunatic. And lookie here!

this is not okay to post

Dude, what the fuck.
Honestly I feel really bad for the guy. It must be awful having something taken away from you without your consent.
I don't feel the least bit sorry for him, but I could imagine what he is feeling.
The days that he mention longing for were the days when being someone like him, a rich white guy with a traditional family and several children, was the epitome of the American dream. A time when brown people and women knew their place, where people feared god and those who didn't fit in had the decency to keep out of sight and mind. Then suddenly came a bunch of liberals with progressive values and elected a black president and the whole world was turned upside-down.
Based on his immediate post-election comments, I honestly believe Moore's plan is to religiously grandstand enough until the Almighty himself comes down and calls for a Republican victory.

I expect God to control his horse and knock him off the next time he rides.
I imagine it's difficult to accept defeat when you believe you're God's Chosen Senator. This is one reason why church and state should be absolute.
His giant flag wallpaper only makes me feel like he's filming this inside of a circus tent.
Soore loser
it's funny how he says that materialism is a plague and yet kisses the ass of a multi-millionaire business mogul who goes on expensive golfing trips every weekend and owns a sky scraper with his name on it AND A GOLDEN ELEVATOR JUST FOR HIMSELF

When you think about it, Trump is kind of the seven deadly sins incarnate.

Let's see, wrath, greed, envy, gluttony, sloth, lust, pride...
my God you're right, he has all of them.

The actual antichrist people claimed Obama was in 2008.
*snip*
People buying iPads is materialism
People buying hordes of guns is not.
Ya get over yourself. You were never going to be a champion of campaign finance reform, or gun safety, or anything but a bible thumping libertarian anarchist wannabe in the senate. Even if elected you would vote for everything Trump supported like a good little sycophant.
