Why does it matter what fucking "flag" it is, Islam is Islam, the book of islam is a violent book, if you're islamic, you believe in a violent book. This goes for all religions with violent passages.
Posting without much thought put into does lead nowhere
Have you read the bible?
why would you bring this up again
Have you read the bible?
Go away
I'm no detective but the flag that reads "There is no God but Allah" and "Mohammed is the messenger of God" would make it more than speculation for me...
You don't know what their intentions are. You just don't.
Have you read the bible?
stop. fuck.

Police people are speaking now.
Can we stop fucking arguing about religion. You sound stupid and frankly no one cares
it baffles me that the same inane argument over the same inane subject with the same inane talking points can continue over and over and over again, every week on this forum, for what has to have been years, now.
Sorry not the police commissioner
This is bloody scary that it's so close on our doorstep.
Average white person in australia
NSW premier
So it's a smaller scale incident. It's still a siege. What's your point?
My point is that it's annoying how we exaggerate everything, it's unnecessary. One man with a gun is being compared to any number of historic large scale incidents. It's a hostage crisis, it's a standoff, but calling it a siege is overkill.
Media reporting Martin Place was the target for the foiled beheading plans.
To be perfectly honest I've avoided spending time in Martin Place this year because of that. Only went there for the remembrance ceremony.
Obama briefed on the siege

Police Commissioner confirms they're treating it like a terrorist event
This is bloody scary that it's so close on our doorstep.
I do agree, you always hear about violence and such acts of terrorism in rather distant nations but once it gets closer, you feel how the threat is becomes utterly real. I live in Luxembourg and we never face any real threats or issues, except for some floodings, political disputes or occaisonal crime. If such a thing would happen here, I would start getting paranoid and the ISIS would actually succeed.
Police Commissioner confirms they're treating it like a terrorist event
However they have nothing to confirm that - they are just treating it that way to ensure maximum safety.
Some fat arsehole noone really cares about on the stream now
Police commissioner is a really good speaker
You can't let fear ruin your life. That's how terrorism works. Continue to live and do as you would if an attack hadn't happened and you're already on your way to winning against terrorism. Terrorism wins when you panic, or when you impose a bunch of civil liberty restrictions, or start implementing a bunch of idiotic "stop terrorists" laws.
Well, as long as I know how to shoot in the general direction of a terrorist I am safe, right?
Seriously??? Why the hell did ABC break away from this to cover an economic report, and who the hell thought this was a good time to release such a report?
I hope that the hostages are freed and that their captor is subdued and apprehended alive. He could talk about why he went about this, and could provide information on other possible events in the future.
Also good on channel 7 for not showing any advertisements during this event whereas 9 has been
