These non-ASCII quote marks are what's causing it btw
Thank you - I managed to fix it.
The channel 7 breakfast cohost was trying to speculate pretty hard while venting about the police not giving her information. They brought in the actual news anchor to shut her up and give the facts.
News shows with the word Breakfast in the title... Yeeeaaah By the way, that cop looks straight out of Advanced Warfighter, way more than our American cops when they play Dressup.
But, feel free to continue to be a Dhimmi apologist if it suits you.
I think the world is grateful that you're not in a position of power where you can carry out your supposed dream of Islamic genocide, just because of the actions of a few.
What will it take for people to finally realise that Islam is the problem? NO other religion is as violent as this.
How is Islam the problem? If this was the IRA in Ireland you would not say Christianity is the problem would you? Talking of which, how can you say no other religion is as violent when you look at what was the most serious terror threat for a number of years, not a single Muslim involved.
Westboro haven't beheaded anyone in the name of Christianity as far as I'm aware of. When Christians start murdering innocent people in the name of Jesus in places from France to Nigera, Russia, China, the whole of the middle east, then you may have a point. But, feel free to continue to be a Dhimmi apologist if it suits you.
How do you propose we solve the 'problem' of Islam?
Can we please take these debates of Islam to Mass Debate?
How do you propose we solve the 'problem' of Islam?
Several Hundred years and hopefully it evolves with civilization rather than trying to impose a stand still on it. Just like Christianity did. Remember when Christianity was the cancer of the world? Well, you can't it was 1200-1600 AD, but still. Back then they were a problem. Today it's just Islam. In 2500AD it'll be some other religion Ain't nothing you can do but roll with the punches until it evolves
Can we please take these debates of Islam to Mass Debate?
Sure, why the hell not. There's a time and a place for it - this isn't the time.
It turns out last night that last night the Australian Federal Police arrested a guy in a massive anti-terrorism operation. They announced it this morning and they were going to have a conference soon, but it was called off after this happened. The arrest could have forced someone's hand, or it might be unrelated. Also, Sydney's Airspace has been shut down.

Getting reports of a lone gun man now, $15 says it's a recent Muslim convert.
I think the world is grateful that you're not in a position of power where you can carry out your supposed dream of Islamic genocide.
You seem to want to paint me as some kind of monster because I don't like seeing thousands of innocent people every year being violently murdered for offending someone's fictional moon-god. Violence in the name of *any* religion is frankly ridiculous but when people tip-toe around the issue because they don't want to offend, or see "community cohesion" more important than safeguarding people against a barbaric belief system then it is truly depressing. This will only get worse.

Apparently the SAS are being called in.
NSW State Protection Group is all over Martin Place. These are the guys, images from previous incident. Hostage crises usually take hours upon hours to defuse.
Depends on the level of negotiations, demands and the location.
Apparently the SAS are being called in.
Now they are royally fucked.

They should just go into the store as normal officers. No need for those weapons/vehicles
The state protection group is an arm of the federally sanctioned Tactical Operations Units. Generally they try to negotiate first in a small capacity and if the belligerent does not want to cooperate they try and defuse the situation as quick as possible through force. There's a number of incidents over the last few years in the Sydney and Brisbane CBDs where this has occurred.
Yeah that's standard operating procedure for these situations. You failed to mention the hours (or days) of waiting to wear down the hostage takers, though.
You seem to want to paint me as some kind of monster because I don't like seeing thousands of innocent people every year being violently murdered for offending someone's fictional moon-god. This will only get worse.
Bud, if religion didn't exist, then we'd be killing each other over something just as trivial. Saying that getting rid of religion or a specific religion will save lives or will stop worldwide violence or will cure cancer, or any other naive bullshit, is insanely stupid.
so militarized. They should just go into the store as normal officers. No need for those weapons/vehicles
These aren't beat cops though, they're trained to respond to crisis. Should they just sit this one out in your opinion?
Apparently the SAS are being called in.
Watching the Iranian Embassy Siege, and the British SAS come out for their first public appearance and fuck those idiots up makes me shed a tear of patriotism for a country I'm not even a citizen of. I only assume the Aussie SAS is just as good and if they're asked to get the job done they're going to do it flawlessly with ruthless precision and zero mercy
These aren't beat cops though, they're trained to respond to crisis. Should they just sit this one out in your opinion?
He's parodying the "police militarization!" people.
so militarized. They should just go into the store as normal officers. No need for those weapons/vehicles
Please for the love of fuck be sarcastic

Is there one hostage taker or two?
http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/live/2014/dec/15/sydney-siege-reports-of-hostage-situation-inside-martin-place-cafe-live?CMP=share_btn_tw#block-548e2827e4b0be1a0a43439d
"Tony Abbott I really did not like the recent federal budget"?
Is there one hostage taker or two?
Assume 1 for now.
They just said a woman was seen pouring something like water. Hopefully it wasn't fuel or something.
