The argument does go either way. If this guy does have a bomb and decides okay fuck it, it's my show, bye world, and kills 40 people, having anyone with a conceal carry would have been a preferable outcome
Likely he would take conceal carry into consideration and you'd more likely see something like the Boston bombing instead, where hostages weren't taken.
Unless of course it's a dead man's switch...
You see too many movies. The most common dead man's switch is pulling a pin on a grenade when medics come to give you aid since you weren't killed, and then letting it go when they get to you. Happens in Warzones, not really hostage situations
You think his Apple iWatch is monitoring his BPM and if it drops to below 30 it'll send a signal to his Wifi bomb?
More like Joe hockey is enjoying himself today
Finally he can get zero scrutiny as he fucks everyone over
Also its a little bit alarming that he walked away from one question. This seems really big because normally he'd be asking questions for 5 or so minutes and the police would've released a few media releases
But there's nothing
I'm not liking this

Or then you'd have the situation where he'd see one of the hostages pull out a gun and quickly decide to detonate the bomb so at least he'd go out causing some damage. We don't want stupid American gun culture here anyways.

Yes, shoot at the bomb
He's going to let the NSW police inform the media but they don't want to
I think by that he is saying that its not his position to say anything. They are in control after all.

He probably needs to be briefed constantly about what's going on, hard to do so when you're talking to the media.

I think you watch too many movies with your concealed carry hero fantasy.
midyear budget release is going on ahead today wtf
I think that's a good thing, maintain security around the area, but don't let it shut down everything
Yes, shoot at the bomb
The only thing stopping a terrorist with a bomb is a citizen with a bomb.
He probably needs to be briefed constantly about what's going on, hard to do so when you're talking to the media.
True, probably why he just wanted to make a short briefing and go back to where he was with his advisors
I think you watch too many movies with your concealed carry hero fantasy.
I remember when a gunman came into a restaurant and shot the place up. Killed a large number of people, including the parents of a woman right in front of her eyes. But that woman had a conceal carry permit, and a gun, but she left it in her car. Now I wonder how many lives would have been saved had she had it on her. 1? 5? Maybe even none, but not having it means you're a victim, period, you don't get a choice

Yeah she could have gone into slow-mo and did a backflip off the cash register then shot the gunman in the head before being carried out by a cheering crowd and given the key to the city

So you mean pretty much every religion before the 18th century

There's plenty of instances and even videos where someone conceal carrying saved lives, all the argument that's needed

Dude, fuck off, You know how many conceal carries have been used wrongly? A fucking lot more than they have been used for justice.
You see too many movies. The most common dead man's switch is pulling a pin on a grenade when medics come to give you aid since you weren't killed, and then letting it go when they get to you. Happens in Warzones, not really hostage situations

I get the point but if you were to show that there was even a possibility of triggering an explosive if you were incapacitated it makes a pretty good bargaining chip in a high density hostage situation like this, I don't think something like that would be too hard to rig either, just an inverter and a switch.
(now on an additional 5 watchlists)
midyear budget release is going on ahead today wtf
Has to, Tony doesn't want people to fear so he's going to continue on with "business as usual"
May seem bizarre but it makes sense
If you're in a hostage situation and you decide that you'll play Rambo, but you fail and hostages die, their blood is as much on your hands as the hostage taker
So you mean pretty much every religion before the 18th century
Yes, 18th century religion does not belong in this time.
Old religion is sticking around specifically in Islamic countries because of Sharia Law, death for apostates.
The government has control but they know this isn't a federal issue, this is a state issue
I mean like immediate control, they will know what (if anything) is safe to tell the media and what isn't.
Yes, 18th century religion does not belong in this time.

Australians are 61% an even older religion.
If you're in a hostage situation and you decide that you'll play Rambo, but you fail and hostages die, their blood is as much on your hands as the hostage taker
Not to mention how dumb the hostage taker would have to be to not consider the possibility of concealed carries in places where its possible.
There's plenty of instances and even videos where someone conceal carrying saved lives, all the argument that's needed
I don't really have a dog in this being in the uk, but I can only see concealed carrying causing a lot of confusion, especially if there is another concealed carry licensee around. What is the benefit of concealed versus open carry other than the intimidation aspect?
Dude, fuck off, You know how many conceal carries have been used wrongly? A fucking lot more than they have been used for justice.
I don't use mine incorrectly.
Once you watch a guy rob a convenience store, get what he wants from the 20 year old girl working the register, and instead of leaving, he points his gun to the ceiling with his arm stretched, lowers it, pointing it at her head, and then puts her brains on the razor blades on display behind her, you realize that sometimes, the word please doesn't fucking work
7 says the police commissioner is going to speak soon
There's plenty of instances and even videos where someone conceal carrying saved lives, all the argument that's needed
Are there any stats on this? I would legit be interested as I haven't researched the subject much.
