One of my friends lives 'near' there in Austin. I hope the wind doesn't turn and send the chemicals down her way :(

[editline]18th April 2013[/editline]
Umm well you realize that it wasnt IN waco, it was NEAR waco in a town called "west"
I've seen so many news sources refer to it as a city in west Texas, instead of West, Texas (in North Central Texas)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_City_Disaster#Scale_of_the_disaster

and the resulting chain reaction of fires and explosions killed at least 581 people, including all but one member of the Texas City fire department
Oh. The morning news is reporting at least 15 people are dead, but that many more are feared. Several firefighters from neighboring towns that came to help have gone missing, as well.
There've been reports of hundreds injured, and they're warning of northerly winds blowing fumes up towards Dallas. Advising people north of West to close all windows and keep pets inside just in case. If you smell fertilizer, definitely do that.
So how did this happen then? Why?
Yeesh! They just played a 9-1-1 call from a kid who was trapped with his dad in a car buried under debris. He kept yelling "you have to get us out of here, please, get us out!" I hope they're alright. :[

Sounds and looks like a missile hit it in some of the videos.
Is it the same people from that video...?
I don't know, I only caught the tail end of the report. I'm at work, and heard it going on the TV around the corner.
Sounds and looks like a missile hit it in some of the videos.
conspiracy!!!!!
conspiracy!!!!!
Okay Mr. Jones.
Why are some people complaining about media bandwagoning? When would the media ever not cover a fertilizer plant blowing up
Paranoid FPers who somehow think this is some media conspiracy and will somehow through yarn magic link it gun control.
Soms pics.
Looks like the fucking apocalypse.
uhhh, you'd be vaporized?
No, you would suffer internal injuries and be thrown back quite a bit depending on distance from the blast.
Soms pics.
Surreal. This is terrible. We need "I survived random explosions week 2013" t-shirts or some shit.
3 explosions in 3 days. I feel the media is paying attention to common accidents due to boston for more viewers.
slow poke here, this, Boston and whats the other?
Anhydrous Ammonia is scary shit. We have a lot of that floating around here due to it being a rural area. I always get that pit in my stomach anytime we get called to a tanker truck wreck and it's unknown what the contents of it are.
This is kind of like the SA 9/11 thread with the first page full of people saying "meh happens all the time fuck this"
Paranoid FPers who somehow think this is some media conspiracy and will somehow through yarn magic link it gun control.
The strings don't lie.
It's a tragedy for sure, but I think we all know what this really about... Gun control.
If only they had guns it wouldn't have exploded.
I think video games are to blame
