Isn't the fact that we as humans are more civilized than other living creatures the main reason we frown upon rape in the first place? Rape happens among animals all the time and we don't do shit about that and animals don't hold lower opinions of each other for it, the reason we don't accept rape is because we're more civilized than acting on raw animal instinct.
huh? animals cant consent in the first place. we frown upon rape because it takes away someone's free-agency, which is a purely modern conception might i add. rape for most of human history has been seen as quite acceptable

well yes human history. how rape was seen in pre-historical times is difficult to understand.
ACCUSED, NOT CONVICTED
what is the point of this post when the guy's admitted and apologised for it
I'm saying the same things that drove him to do what he did would do the same to you
so you're trying to remove the blame from anything any human has ever done in history. your logic is that no one is responsible for anything they do because ''things drove them there''.
what is the point of this post when the guy's admitted and apologised for it
The things he admitted to doing do not in any way match the victim's testimony, so it is still innocent until proven guilty. Still, I have serious doubts that 3 different women would simultaneously be lying about this guy raping them
so you're trying to remove the blame from anything any human has ever done in history. your logic is that no one is responsible for anything they do because ''things drove them there''.
a person can be held responsible for their actions while still trying to understand the motivations that made their actions seem reasonable to them. in fact, understanding the greater context can be necessary to someone being held responsible. there is no responsibility by sending someone to jail, it only isolates them from the victim they harmed and the community they made unsafe. it isn't just, it is "pragmatic".
Has that dude never been with a women before? Sometimes they're interested but you know, they just want to hangout and get to know you before hooking up.

I'm not going to bother trying to change your mind about this, but your views are flawed. if you had your way in this situation it would cause a lot of people a lot pain.

Obviously thought with the wrong head that night. :v:
Robin Thicke just came out with a fucking song about not understanding consent how is it not obviously a problem
how do you bring average pop music into this seriously, "I know you want it" isn't exactly agenda
how do you bring average pop music into this seriously, "I know you want it" isn't exactly agenda
it doesn't need to be agenda he's using it as an example of the social perception (which pop music is a pretty good indicator of)
it doesn't need to be agenda he's using it as an example of the social perception (which pop music is a pretty good indicator of)
are you serious you're going to hate this piece of mysoginist shit
you should have used Funky Cold Medina which is literally about date rape drugs 3/10
Think you guys should read this article to get a better understanding on what he was accused of http://www.nbc-2.com/story/23875736/fgcu-student-arrested-for-sexual-battery#.UnvjqHBHKOU It is more than "I did not think that you wanted me to stop and I kept going."

Who is Joshua Sekulic? Joshua Sekulic is described as a "nice guy" by his classmates, but investigators say that's what he used to his advantage.
see this is what the friendzone does to people
Has that dude never been with a women before? Sometimes they're interested but you know, they just want to hangout and get to know you before hooking up.
Probably just a really pompous misogynist. "She invited me over, she obviously wants the dick"
I think if this guy is truly sincere he's done the right thing here... Agree with previous posts. If you keep screaming in someone's face that they'll never get over it, then they god damn well won't.
Joshua Sekulic is described as a "nice guy" by his classmates haha
What part of "You invited me over to your house." implies, "Come have sex with me." I honestly don't understand how that connection was at all made.
I don't want to sound like I'm defending a rapist because sexual violence is the thing in life I have the biggest problem with, but I have actually been invited round a girls house to watch a film, watched the film, went home then found out a year down the line that she was trying to get me in the sack. Which is why there needs to be a more clear education and understanding of the nuances of consent, because while it probably won't stop people who were gonna rape anyway, it will stop cases of misconstrued intention, which will mean that when someone is accused of rape or sexual violence in any form, trial and punishment will be less of a grey area

If a girl tells you to stop, you stop, end of story.
If a girl tells you to stop, you stop, end of story.
What if I'm racing her in Forza? What do I do?
What if I'm racing her in Forza? What do I do?
turn off the console and buy a new game.
