Wow. That's actually impressive, I never thought this would happen. Still, I think what's going to cut it for most people are the exclusives and the price. And right now, the PS4 still have the upper hand on that. But eh, look at the Wii U... Although I really don't understand what the think when they say "The concept of letting you share your game with up to 9 people is gone". I mean, you just give your game and you're sharing it with whoever the fuck you want. I don't understand how they could have though this was an improvement? Still, I think digital sharing might be possible, and it might be interesting for them to look at this.
Xbox 180º confirmed?
While this is good news, don't forget that you still need to go online for that one time before you can play games.
No, you only need to be online to setup your XBox.
Wow, the playing field is much more level now, but I'm still going to get a Ps4. It has more games I am interested in, and I have no interest for Kinect or TV capabilities. The only downside to PlayStation is that most of my friends have Xbox (or are planning on getting Xbox One), but oh well.
HAL9000 is still required. Also
internet will only be required when initially setting up the console
The heartbeat detection, the shitty windows 8, and the advertisements spyed and customized for you are still there. Infact, the Xbox One is shittier than the PS4 or even the god damn Wii U. gg microsoft

It eliminates the need for something you strap around your arm or something like Cabela's did with their last game controller. It can provide your heart rate on fitness games or do some neat shit with first person shooters. Also if you have any faith in Microsoft not just flat out lying to you without any warning, ads are gone.
But now they removed the ability to share you gold membership/content sharing with family members and using games without the discs. Can't say this is a bad thing, but hopefully they bring in those other features back.
Only reason they had those features was the DRM.
Oh wow
Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.

Oh wow
Going from another post I made, You do know why non-disc based gaming is a bad idea if it isn't regulated, right? The amount of money lost if you could install all your games and play them without the disk being tied to that console would be insane. Just pass whatever new game you got off to 10 people and suddenly one person instead of 10 is paying for new or used games. Buy a game, install it to your 360, and immediately re-sell the disk to GameStop or whatever because you don't need it to play the game so you end up spending like 20 bucks on a 60 game. It's perfectly reasonable.
Only reason they had those features was the DRM.
What

Because Kinect Spythousand is there, even if you cover it it will detect your heartbeat. And not to mention Microsoft is partnered with the NSA for prism... Way too much damage to be controlled.
this would still have to require a cdkey/a way to set a digital owner of the disk
And?
Isn't it only once at all ever?
Yup only once. That's why I said that one time only.
No, you only need to be online to setup your XBox.
And that's what I said.

Hmm actually now I can actually ponder a decision between PS4 and Xbox One, instead of being completely in favor of PS4. Why people complain about Kinect so much? I think it does offer some really cool features, and I honestly doubt it could spy you 24/7. MS said the only command it could hear while on standby is "Xbox ON". plus I can turn it off entirely if I ever get so paranoid.
Yep Microsoft is a big evil company that just wants to spy on random people
Exactly, even if it could spy on you which it doesn't, no one at microsoft is going to randomly connect to your kinect just to watch you jack off in your bedroom.
I thought it was free unless its PSN+ besides it's only 5/M anyways.
PS+ is actually under 5 USD a month with a 1 year costing $50 [editline]20th June 2013[/editline]
THAT's why
That show, holy Fuck
And?
So your back at square one with the whole DRM thing, since you can't resell your games since they are tied to your account.
I've got a great solution for those who hate the small advertisements and are insitent that they're being spied on, it's called: Wait for it... ....disconnecting the console
Kinect has a backup battery and the advertisements are required.
Kinect has a backup battery and the advertisements are required.
No it doesn't, but the device is always powered aslong as your Xbox is plugged in. Advertisements are not required, infact there are no ads's on the Xbox One Dashboard.
Kinect has a backup battery and the advertisements are required.
It has been leaked that ads are not on the mainscreen and the Kinect does not have a battery pack. Don't fall for the paranoia. [editline]19th June 2013[/editline]
Yes it is. It can be used to spy on you while your in the fucking room. Way too much damage to be controlled.
MS, along with the many other corporations are not willing participants. There was an article in SH about Yahoo fighting the NSA on the spying attempt and were defeated soundly in a private court case and ultimately forced to follow along or break the law. [editline]19th June 2013[/editline]
And?
I wouldn't rule it out. A physical library alongside a digital library with trading would be a great benefit to MS.

And not to mention Microsoft is partnered with the NSA for prism... Way too much damage to be controlled.
I'm pretty sure this isn't the Ron Paul/Bitcon fanclub thread. Not everything is a fucking conspiracy, you know? These are companies selling videogames and videogame consoles to turn a profit, not some crazy government-funded agency that exists just to spy on you. What would the NSA achieve by spying on people who play FUCKING VIDEOGAMES? Do you think that they're going to actively use the Kinect to find bombs or unlicensed guns in the player's room? Will they use the Kinect's heartbeat detector to discover bombs implanted inside of terrorists stomachs while they're playing call of duty? If there was any company to partner up with the NSA, it would definitely NOT be Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Valve, or Sony. It'd be Google or something. [editline]19th June 2013[/editline]
Kinect has a backup battery and the advertisements are required.
Is your knowledge based off anything else besides Kotaku headlines and /v/ greentext threads where people photoshop dicks onto the CEO's face, or HAL9000's eye onto the Kinect? Most of the Kinect shit people are complaining about is from patents that Microsoft filed, and haven't actually implemented into the Kinect and most likely won't use.
forza 5 man I don't know. Any word on gran turismo 6?
It's a PS3 game.
Wow! Think about this guys. We as a community of videogame players accomplished a great task. We created such a bitchstorm that a huge company actually changed their fucking stupid plans. This is fucking awesome.
[Still not vocal enough to get EA to change their practices]
I was kinda hoping for PS4 to become dominant console.
Why am i reading this with a thick russian accent?
Honestly the only bullshit policy was the online 24 hour check thing and always enabled Kinect. Get rid of that and I'd gladly sacrifice used games in favor of being able to share my gaming library with 10 "family members". Before anyone calls me a fan boy, I was buying both (the Xbox One reluctantly for Killer Instinct)

Only one of what you speak of now even exists. 24 hour policy? gone Always enabled Kinect? When off only responds to "Xbox On," when on you can set it to not take in voice commands Game Share Library? Gone due to no online DRM
