Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, Halo Something, Killer Instinct, Quantum Break, Ryse, technically Titanfall, technically Minecraft, and Project Spark. A bit more than just Halo 5.
None of those do anything for me. From left to right they are: Brown, Loud, Brown, Broken, meh, Fail, Win8, why even?, Win8. Why would i bother with an Xbox? all i ever used those for was Fable and those games got raped so hard that i won't be coming back for a 4th. [editline]20th June 2013[/editline]
i think you're taking things a bit too seriously because 'pc master race' sounds cheeseball as hell, like it's some kind of exclusive club
It's not. Those purported members of "PC master race" even use it for self-ridicule most of the time. However, it is the best all-round gaming machine. Fuck specs, more games!
Halo? Brown? What are you on about?
There was something that had an absolutely terrible first impression in the eye of the public before it was released. It's called the PS3 and it was to be sold for 599 US dollars. A full 300 dollars more than the base 360 model. That was absolutely terrible and the PS3 became a laughing stock for a good while. For the first few years, it affected sales and games dearly. Not enough games were coming out and the wave of "PS3 has no games" jokes came. Blame it on the specs or PS2 support or whatever, it was still an absolutely terrible thing that ruined the first impression of the console. Then around the time in InFamous, it started to get on the right track. Price drops and more games got the console back on it's feet. A new "Slim" model which took up 99% less space than the original model, at the expense of backwards compatibility, was introduced and then it was all great. Then the Vita came along and kind of fucked up but it is getting rather good. The last "major" console that completely failed that I remember was the PSP GO for various reasons that couldn't be fixed on a software or price side. If the One doesn't sell well at launch, it can and most definitely will come back into the spotlight.
imo it was still fucking awful because games looked like shit on it, ran like shit, or just were much more buggy due to the CPU architecture being weird and only really understood by sony exclusives. PS4 aims to changed that completely it seems.
i think you're taking things a bit too seriously because 'pc master race' sounds cheeseball as hell, like it's some kind of exclusive club
Usually on Facepunch when people say pc master race they mean it in a cheesy way.
The main thing that irks me about this whole ordeal is that I'm going to be judged for purchasing an Xbox One first. The "console war" has descended from general slating of the console to the judgement of one's intelligence and prerogative based on their console choice. Is it so bad that I feel more comfortable playing an Xbox? That I love the controller, that I believe there is something to come from the streaming ideas that they're broadcasting? Obviously still going to buy a PS4, but my point stands.

The vocal majority shouldn't dictate how you think about most gamers. [editline]20th June 2013[/editline] I guess what I'm saying is I don't give a shit what console you buy.
I'd say just buy what suits you.
From Reddit but yeah, come to think of it... [editline]20th June 2013[/editline] Certain friends are already rejoicing the Xbox. Fuck me.
It's not like all it's issues are magically solved either way.
It's not like all it's issues are magically solved either way.
Well my biggest problem is gone sort of. I am still not happy that the hardware it lower and about the whole Gold deal, i would seriously expect that they would drop the requirement of it to watch Netflix. If you look at the PS3 exclusives like the Last of Us then i am sure you cannot run that stuff on the 360. (Besides not having a blu ray)
The only fucking thing I hate about consoles is that half my friends are on Xbox and the other half are on a Playstation.
The only fucking thing I hate about consoles is that half my friends are on Xbox and the other half are on a Playstation.
This and the fact that if i want to buy a multi platform that i am really doubting about on which platform i would buy it. Example would be GTA IV for the PS3, friend said it ran better and that he would play with me, guess what he never showed up and started to play more on this Xbox. And i missed the timed-exclusive Ballad of Gay Tony and Lost and Damned. Fuck him...
NSA: "Yo MS, not a lot of Surveillance-One sales, eh? Fix it."
Well my dad likes the xbox 360's graphics and thinks is better than the ps3's plus alot of my friends go on the xbox 360 I don't know what to get now... A 180 turned xbox or a fine ps4 ?
It's cool they did this and all but $500, $10 per month/$60 yearly Xbox Live (which you need or there's no online features whatsoever), and mandatory Kinect is still a no go for me. [editline]20th June 2013[/editline]
Xbox One + Kinect = $500 PS4 + Eye = $460 There likely will not be a price drop.
Why do you always bring up the Eye when you're comparing prices? Unlike the Kinect, the Eye is 100% optional. Majority of gamers don't care for the gimmick.

I think the Kinect has potential, it just needs to be used right.

I will probably buy the X1 because I much prefer the Xbox controller, the PS one hurts my thumbs with extended play (I know because I own a PS3) and I want to keep my old gamertag. I think its 8 years now. Its kind of got a value to me. I don't give a fuck if people choose the PS4 over the Xbone but it doesn't make me an asshole if I choose to buy the X1 first.
it was all an evil plan i tell you 1. make ridiculous features 2. get everyone taking about xbox 3. take back features 4. everyone talks about better xbox 5. kids buy xbox
Just for the record folks, this is just TWO WEEKS since Xbone's reveal, and ONE WEEK since the Microsoft conference at E3. I'm pretty sure there's no coincidence here at all.
Despite the fact that Microsoft pretty much treated their loyal customers like criminals and basically spat at their faces and told them to fuck off AND that this back-peddle is done because they have to not because they want to
Jesus christ the amount of hyperbole, sense of entitlement, and overreaction in every single thread about the new consoles just keeps getting more and more ridiculous. It's a computer that plays videogames. They thought they could try to market it like Steam. People got mad. They changed it. The end. Some people need to get off the computer and go spend some time outside and maybe get some perspective before deciding to launch into angry tirades about an entertainment device.
I think I'm going to cancel my pre-order. Might go buy the Xbox One at Costco. Great return policy. Play the exclusive(s) I want. Bring the Xbox One back 3-4 years later, Get cash back no questions asked.
I'll stick to my PS4. Although I like the way the Xbox One Dashboard looks. Maybe I'll get one when it goes on sale during boxing day in a few years.
GJ Microsoft. Might pick up the Xbox One now later in its life cycle if it got a decent line of exclusives. PS4 is definitely getting the early purchase though
Just to confirm to the billion people complaining, you can actually turn off the Kinect in the options.
A good read: http://pastebin.com/TE1MWES2

So when you buy a game used you're hurting developers much more than say a movie studio. Many gamers fail to realize this when they purchase these preowned games. It is impossible to continue to deliver movie like experiences at the current costs without giving up something in return.
Wait, so by buying pre-owned games I'm actively killing those awful linear blockbuster shooters that are hopelessly boring because they're trying to emulate a non-interactive medium? Be right back, going on a shopping spree.
