lol Amelia went on Lost island, she was helping Juliet bake cookies.
She was referenced in old cartoons a lot back when cartoons liked adding some history to an episode for the hell of it, but they don't do that a lot now, so I guess this is one of those common sense things that we all assume the younger ones will learn but don't.
I like to imagine they were saved by a fishing boat and lived the rest of their days as foreigners on the Gilbert islands until finally and peacefully passing away of old age.
I can think of worse places to die, at least. starvation isn't a nice way to go out by any stretch, in fact it's probably one of the worst, but at least they died in the sun and the sand rather than clutching eachother for warmth or screaming in their quickly-sinking steel coffin.
Or they could have lived to ripe old ages eating coconuts and waiting for rescue.
Actually, that would fucking suck.

You can't blame education on this, this is common knowledge.

That's better than them perishing.
I'm guessing there wasn't edible plants on the island? They probably didn't have drinkable water either.
what if by some fluke they were still alive? Biggest story of the century.

She would be 114 if she was still alive.

so probably not
I told you, she went through the Bermuda triangle and was sent 100 years into the future
or perhaps she crashed into the sea and this call was a hoax
So it was like LOST in real life. I wonder how long they stayed alive for!
I would be tremendously interested in finding these transmissions.. Amelia Earheart is a major figure in aviation history for women but not only that, she was a terrific pilot. So anything unravelling the mystery of her is of utmost importance to me.
Actually I don't know who she is either, in fact I wouldn't be surprised to find a lot more people on FP who don't know her. I'm going to take a guess she is English? That would explain it since all throughout my school years I literally learned nothing but about the Indians and civil war in my history classes. They never even taught us about WW1 or 2 other then pearl harbor.
I'm American if you didn't catch that, and yes, those videos you see where they ask us questions are NOT cherry picked.
SHe's essentially the most famous female pilot ever. And she's shown up on so many sci fi shows it's getting painfull.

Now, if only experts would get to finding where Carmen fucking Sandiego is!
