• Commuting makes you unhappy and anxious

I have to drive about 20 minutes to college every day. I like it, music or no music. Having a manual gearbox also contributes to this enjoyment.
Its the feeling of loneliness that does it for me. I only have a friend who occasionally appears on the odd occasion and that's it. I've got my brother I suppose but we are worlds apart in terms of things to talk about.
I feel ya, I'm exactly the same way, brother who is very different from me and have very few friends.
I live about an hour away from my school. I get up at 6 AM and I spend 2 hours on a bus every day. Well, I guess this explains why everything suddenly started to feel like shit when I started in high school.
Hah my work is so moving i can't even commute to work if i wanted to. That's why i have a car. Also in Finland if you don't live near a huge city most likely you can't even commute to your work.
I either sleep or put on some music (buying good speakers is a very good decision) and I've never had any anxiety or depression or shit. I also love my car, like, a lot, so spending time with it is pretty enjoyable in and of itself.
I had to commute for 2 years of University. 5 hours a day. And because of the way my timetable was, sometimes I would have to commute 5 hours for a 1 hour lecture. That's it. 1 hour then go back home. Other times I would have a lecture at 9am and not have another until 3 or 4pm and that would suck. I just took out loans and now I live on campus and I love it. I only have to pay back 150 a month, and its totally worth it. I love being in debt.
Commuted for five (Undergrad and Masters) years of uni, about 2 hours a day if I was lucky. Now I'm doing some work at my Alma Mater, so have the same commute to enjoy again
I usually just read on the bus going to and from college, that get's me by. I am learning how to drive though, but for now i'm stuck in the bus trying to revise for the bloody theory test.
This is pretty much the reason why I switched universities (although I'm probably switching back because this university is absolute SHITE for what I want to get into). Just getting on the bus an hour and a half before class, having to stand for 40-50 minutes at a time because of stupid shit, and you get all sweaty and icky and smelly and you can't move and it's overwhelming and stupid and shit and D: I hate busses.
My commute is usually just 25 minutes bitches
I don't have much of a problem with commuting. Public transport where I live is shitty, but it's such an every-day deal by now that I've gotten used to delays or shitty drivers. As for longer travelling, I actually like bus and train rides. Especially the longer kind.
I like the hour long bus journey every day because I get to listen to my music and read my books, it's like a little bit of me-time that's usually filled with studying or something.
The issue is that all the work places around here have similar closing times, limited car parking spaces and literally hundreds of employees. Like every place is like that though which leads me to believe that in the future there will perhaps be more flexible working hours but it looks quite doubtful right now so the only fix is to move very fast when leaving the place or you'll be stuck. Even when using the bus I'd refuse to take two buses to get home because you can usually outpace the first bus as it gets stuck in all that traffic for an hour anyway or never appears (We wonder why...).
My commute is usually between an hour and a half and two hours in length, but half of that time is spent on a train with less-than-decent wifi but lots of free seats. Then I get to switch over to a subway, and I've always enjoyed traveling underground for some reason, and then it ends with a ten minute bus ride to campus. It's only when I have to reverse the process to try and get to the train going back home on time when it becomes stressful, but I usually make it.
