I'm disappointed it took 4 pages for someone to post that. I actually came back here because I wanted to do it, so thanks.
Because since they won't, the tech won't stay around and the role will be taken by a method that works on all systems, aka OpenCL. IIRC they just pay devs to add it to their games and use it to advertise an nvidia-exclusive feature. There were a couple of CUDA programs out there for things like video conversion, but they were all paid and never took off. Researchers might use it, but I imagine many would prefer OpenCL.
I somehow never heard of that. Now I'm on a mad rush trying to find renderers for Maya that use it :v:
To me it sounded like he said that mirrors edge had mainly parkour elementa in it, which is wrong in a sense. It could be me just misunderstanding it as well.
no, mirror's edge is built entirely on parkour
free running is doing flips and shit, parkour is vaulting obstacles and practicing fluid movement
The wiki says there's an "Old Town" that's mostly 'ignored' by the Government who focuses on the "New City". I hope that since this is going to be free-roam, we'll be able to visit the "Old Town".
Never saw the comics so I'm not sure what it's like. I'm kinda imagining it like Max Payne 3's Hoboken level in terms of architecture. That'd be neat.
The game being open world would explain the Faith's new suit. I can imagine with the new open world format would open up doors to a whole bunch of the pseudo RPG stuff that comes with; a simple inventory and whatnot.
