Oh, and no modern game has auto-aim for the PC. Just shows how little you know about the subject.
Borderlands
Nevermind. It's not even worth explaining it to them.
Troll being codeword for "more intelligent".
More like 'asshole who feels the need to go shit on every thread he doesn't appear to like'
Oh, I wondered why this thread had 5 pages. Thisispain is here, that's why.
231556 Total Signatures :geno:
Doesn't mean shit now since half the petition signers probably bought it on PC anyway.
No one is saying PC gamers are HARDCORE gamers. PC gamers keep their computer up to date with the latest technology so they can get the very best experience out of their games. We don't want to play games that have been watered down for a simple controller. We don't want auto aim in our FPS games because the joystick is a terrible device to aim with. We don't want gimmicky matchmaking multiplayer instead of the freedom to chose our favorite server. That's what being a PC gamer is all about. Casual console gamers don't give a fuck. It's not like there is anything terribly wrong with being a console gamer, but you'd be a fucking retard (thisispain) to think that there isn't a difference between console gamers, and PC gamers.
I play on my PS3 and PC. What does that make me.
it's less because they lose interest and more because: A) hardcore gamers can be huge dickweeds B) console versions of games are shit-easy to play edit: bloop
Yep Most people don't want to go to the trouble of running an installer, trying to navigate a server list, patching their game so they can play online, what the fuck it still doesn't work, etc etc, the whole runaround you get trying to play PC games. So they just get a console instead, which is a lot cheaper to boot. What Infinity Ward is trying to do here is make the PC more like a console in order to attract more people back to the PC so that there's more money in producing PC games, i.e. (hopefully) more good PC games being published. I'm not saying that will actually work (I've been playing it on the 360 because of the dedicated server thing as well as performance issues) but the intent isn't just to be lazy, or to piss you guys off.

Making a PC more like a console to bring people to it is totally wrong, that's just going to increase the amount of clueless people on them.
i personally dont have many problems with matchmaking but dedicated servers would be so much better
That's the thing, most 'dedicated' people would just buy a PC. The guys who just do it as a hobby (with the exception of the few 'hardcore' console users) are the ones who buy a console.
Possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
I just want goddamn map selection, I don't want to play fucking Quarry.

But to a developer trying to make a commercially successful product it's a good move.
It's wrong to you, because you're one of the minority of hardcore/tweaker gamers on the PC, as are most people on this forum. If you want to game so casually, get a console, isn't console made for people who just want to play casually?
this is the situation I see so far 1: IW gets rid of dedicated servers 2: PC gamers rage 3: other people say they love matchmaking, hate dedicated servers why can't there be both dammit, why not both matchmaking and dedicated servers?
Why? If you want to game so casually, get a console, isn't console made for people who just want to play casually?
Because the number of people who want to play games the way we do is very small. There's two options here: 1. Developers continue to make inaccessible, tweakable PC games that we like playing, and don't sell very many copies. As a result, the PC market as seen as less lucrative than consoles, and fewer games get PC versions, which we PC gamers then complain about. 2. Developers simplify aspects like server matchmaking and installation in order to make games more accessible to casual gamers (most gamers), which we hardcore gamers complain about, but as a result more people buy PC games, and games are released for the PC that wouldn't have been otherwise. It's an unfortunate tradeoff, but game publishing is a business, and they have to make sound financial decisions.
Again, completely preference. A mouse doesn't have anything that makes it more accurate than an analog stick. It's completely about how much time you spend on it. I've seen people make headshots across Bloodgulch with an Xbox controller.
What?! Okay, let's put this in perspective: How many fingers do you use with an analog stick? One, that's your thumb. How many fingers do you use with a mouse? You use the whole fucking hand. I suppose you can be good with an analog stick, but if you fought against someone using a mouse/keyboard you'd be at a serious disadvantage. The mouse user would literally run circles around you.

Why not use both to please everyone?
Like vince said, dedicated servers can live together with matchmaking. Why not use both to please everyone?
Because that makes sense and we can't have that
so I think the petition was ignored just maybe

Doesn't mean shit now since half the petition signers probably bought it on PC anyway.
Pretty much the case. Related: http://i.imgur.com/17vKk.png IW is laughing all the way to the bank.
Pretty much the case. Related: http://i.imgur.com/17vKk.png IW is laughing all the way to the bank.
The image is misleading. Quite a lot of people who bought mw2 joined boycott group to troll.
Like vince said, dedicated servers can live together with matchmaking. Why not use both to please everyone?
No idea. Presumably not enough of a payoff for the extra work involved.
:ohdear: You're all wrong, the best gaming option is this:
What?! Okay, let's put this in perspective: How many fingers do you use with an analog stick? One, that's your thumb. How many fingers do you use with a mouse?
Again, completely preference. A mouse doesn't have anything that makes it more accurate than an analog stick. It's completely about how much time you spend on it. I've seen people make headshots across Bloodgulch with an Xbox controller.
You know, that has less to do with their 'Skill' using a joystick and more to do with FPS games on the console actually have auto aim.
The image is misleading. Quite a lot of people who bought mw2 joined boycott group to troll.
I think there were plenty of people who bought the game despite saying they'd boycott it. If there was a genuine gamer boycott, there would have been some changes in the way games are created now. Quite simply some either don't give a care or cave into pressure. Which is why personally I don't see these boycotts working. The companies don't care because they are focused on selling it, and they know there are plenty of gamers who will buy the game regardless and won't participate in a real boycott.
I think there were plenty of people who bought the game despite saying they'd boycott it.
True, but still a lot joined after.
You know, that has less to do with their 'Skill' using a joystick and more to do with FPS games on the console actually have auto aim.
Halo didn't have autoaim, it had aim sensitivity reduction. You could call holding down Mouse3 to reduce mouse sensitive autoaim as well.
Word of the day: subjectivity.

Subjectivity refers to a person's perspective or opinion
Or, in your case
Subjectivity refers to thisispain's opinion apparently being the only correct one. This encourages him to act like an ass to anyone who doesn't agree with him
Hence his name. He is a pain in the ass
