Or they, you know, could have fulfilled their existing obligations instead of going out for more money.
Idk, they're not really getting more money quicker this way. Remember, you don't actually pay until they ship your unit.
They still should have fulfilled preorders first [editline]4th May 2016[/editline] Otherwise it just feels like a horrible cashgrab
I think Best Buy must be more responsible for this than Oculus/Facebook. I've been getting Best Buy emails all of a sudden about their shit daily. They are on some warpath to prove they're still relevant or something

Facebook over Oculus knowingly and purposefully signed away x amount of Rifts for retail thinking that they would be fine with their then-status on pre-orders.
I did hear one analysis of this that retail was a very -good- thing (proliferation, people being able to get it, et cetera) even despite the fuckup because it gave people a chance to actually do things like: 1. get actual customer support 2. buy something having not preordered it a while ago 3. learn about VR in general Like from a greater scale it can be interpreted as important for VR -as a whole- that this shit happens, but it does still look really bad and is an annoying crock of shit to people that preordered https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/4hmw4b/after_years_of_witnessing_the_recent_nature_of/ Sue me for lolreddit if you want but I think this person has some decent points I'd probably be angrier if I actually pre-ordered, but I'm also glad I waited and didn't
Any word if Valve and HTC are going to have instore demos for the Vive?

Going to wait until gen 2
In what way? Both the Rift and Vive are amazing products, the only thing that has been fucked up so far is the Rift's launch. Waiting for Gen 2 is probably a smart choice for most people but the current state of VR is pretty amazing dude.
