Evolution strikes back! These resistant bacterias are like mother earths own antibiotics against us cancerous humans. Natural population control.
I take it you took Religious Education instead of science.
I think we've become less hardy, immunologically speaking, some should just take the bullet of lesser threat pathogens so their immune systems aren't relying upon artificial antibiotics. Our immune system is a fantastic piece of biological machinery that can adapt when given the chance.
Our fault for over prescribing antibiotics, causing them to become resistant to them
No, not really. Most of our antibiotics are used on animals (80%) that's a much bigger problem than a few idiots taking antibiotics for a cold (which does nothing). [editline]11th March 2013[/editline]
As a kid, my doctor barely ever prescribed me antibiotics. Nowadays, I don't really ever get sick, and if I do it lasts a ridiculously small amount of time. I'd like to think the two are somewhat related.
getting sick (by that I mean a cold) is caused by a virus lol
Someone should slap you with a biology textbook, we're part of nature dumbass.
I never mentioned we were not a part of nature. Maybe my statment contained a slight touch of dark humor and tried to reveal where our place in nature really is?
I take it you took Religious Education instead of science.
Don't worry friend, my education included both. Just because i mention evolution does not mean i related to something religous. black & white thinking can play tricks on your mind you know.
getting sick is caused by a virus lol
Not always, there are many bacterial infections that can make you feel under the weather. Growing up I was prone to bacterial infections of the lungs and believe me I was sick at the time.
[editline]11th March 2013[/editline] getting sick is caused by a virus lol
So bacteria or parasites can't leave you fighting for your life in a hospital bed?
it scares me, it seems this is a problem which a) seems to have no support behind to solve b) general public seem to have no clue about what the difference between bacteria and viruses is. It's literally no different from people dying of AIDS in Africa because they are uneducated about the dangers of unprotected sex c) not a lot of people realize this is a problem and just assume that someone will "think up a cure for it" I'd like to be able to think that this problem will just be solved soon, but we're rapidly running out of time
Not always, there are many bacterial infections that can make you feel under the weather. Growing up I was prone to bacterial infections of the lungs and believe me I was sick at the time.
sick generally means having a cold, colds are caused by viruses
When this happens I'll be one of the first to drop, my immune system is fucked.
sick generally means having a cold, colds are caused by viruses
I see what you mean, I was just backing up his claim that building up an immunity to bacteria when you are younger can help you avoid some illnesses when you are older.
lol hey well maybe if people didn't take them over a slight fucking sniffle.
then we wouldn't have such an issue! [editline]11th March 2013[/editline] SORRY JUST SAYING PEOPLE
I haven't used antibiotics ever in my life.
Evolution strikes back! These resistant bacterias are like mother earths own antibiotics against us cancerous humans. Natural population control. You know it is true. ;P
please let this be a joking post [editline]11th March 2013[/editline]
I haven't used antibiotics ever in my life.
I've needed them for removing my wisdom teeth the first ones I took was some shit made in ww2 and I puked like, every 2 hours, fuck that
Bad news week.
Again, bacterophages are the future, DEVELOP THAT SHIT GODDAMNIT.
sick generally means having a cold, colds are caused by viruses
colds are caused by viruses, bacteria, weather, and allergies. "cold" generally refers to stuffy nose, sometimes sore throat, flemmy lungs, etc. the "common cold", a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract, is not the only time people have "colds".
