Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen wants mandatory church attendance to combat gun crimes

Jesus fuck, can't we just amend the Constitution already
Amendment XX: No legislature shall be made mandating nor restricting any religious practice.
Then include an asterisk that the religious practices must stay within the confines of existing laws so no one can say "it's my religious practice to murder someone daily" or some shit.

It's already in the Constitution.
So is spring just the timer of year when all the mongo politicians come out of the wood work with their weird ideas, like "execute all the gays with firing squads," and shit like this?
I have no idea how can someone even think that saying that out loud would be good.

While the establishment clause is applicable to states, the lawmaker did not identify a specific requirement of religion. You could "attend church" in whatever made up religion you wanted.
You'd have to jump through some loopholes and technicalities to get it through, but it is possible. I could see it happening in Texas more than any other state.
So how is this going to help Arizona combat gun crimes exactly?

So, there are high-ranking politicians proposing laws that directly violate the constitution?
He's either objectively unfit for the job, or let me rephrase: let the constitution be explicit as hell in saying "No, you can't do that." Because this kind of stuff shouldn't make it as far as the news.
Why can we never vote out all of these fucking idiots from our government?! One day they're gonna fuck us so bad we'll end up like Spain.
I think these modern tea bagger Republicans would find Jesus too liberal. They find the pope too liberal.
And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
Luke 3:11
And they call Obama a communist.
How the fuck do these people keep getting into office?

Because there's a sizable demographic of people that vote them in?
Yeah good luck getting this past the Supreme Court because they'll shoot it down as soon as it reaches their desk.
I believe that people should have a right to practice their religion or atheism as long as they're not trying to force it on other people or it's beliefs directly threaten the stability of the country. Instead of forcing people to Church, what about you try to find the root of the problem like what's causing those people to turn to crime and trying to fix rather than suggesting laws that infringe on everybody's rights and will mostly cause more problems than fix them.

There's also 200+ years of court jurisprudence that solidifies it.
I'd just like to welcome each and every one of you to our service at our new chapel in Phoenix. The Church of Gun accepts all willing to accept Kalashnikov and John Moses Browning into their hearts. May your magazines never run dry and your action never jam, amen.
There really needs to be punishments for politicians who violate the constitution. Automatic, and permanent, removal from office along with prison time.
