Obama can't touch any of them, schools are considered a local institution. The Federal government can't tell them what to do unless they establish a federal standard.
i thought that. Like it's the state decision. But i wasn't sure and didn't want to get spammed with dumbs.
Uhh, have you ever read a piece of legislation?
They don't usually have the words "Well Obama likes health care" in them.
I have no formal education in law, so please tell me why the President continues making speeches about internal affairs?
Longer school year =/= More educated kids
If a dumbass doesn't like to pay attention or do work in school, how is keeping him there longer going to help?
My school year has 189 days, I don't know why you guys are complaining.
I have no formal education in law, so please tell me why the President continues making speeches about internal affairs?
You asked my question again.
We don't need more time, we need kids who are interested in learning. Longer school years are just going to give us less interested kids who are in school longer.
You asked my question again.
I made it sound better.
Longer school year =/= More educated kids

we shouldn't, we should just kick his lazy ass out of school till he learns the hard way that he needs education.
We don't need more time, we need kids who are interested in learning. Longer school years are just going to give us less interested kids who are in school longer.
And less pointless busy work.
When I was in 7th grade, we spent 4 months going over the intricacies of the scientific method. That shit should take a week tops.

We should focus on a curriculum that actually teaches kids instead of preparing them for a standardized test at the end of a course or just to get the best grades by doing busy work all course.
My school year has 189 days, I don't know why you guys are complaining.
9 extra days =/= An additional 4 weeks.
I spent a few days on the scientific method =/
Exactly my point.
The teacher was just waisting time.
Let me rephrase my question, how does A become B, from the presidents speech to law, obviously some guy did not just say "Hey! I got a healthcare plan and it's not obama's!" What is the point of the speech when you say "It means nothing in law"
The President's speech doesn't become law. H.R. 3200 was not a direct reaction to Obama's election, it was a direct reaction to the Congressional elections.
We should focus on a curriculum that actually teaches kids instead of preparing them for a standardized test at the end of a course.
And teach us stuff that actually means something.
Do I REALLY need to know about greek gods that never existed?
History is useless now in my opinion, I gather my logical and political sense from politics today, not books that explain how mount olympus connected with the heavens.
We don't need more time, we need kids who are interested in learning. Longer school years are just going to give us less interested kids who are in school longer.
People at my school are so illiterate, they can't read simple words. They think they know everything so they don't have to do homework or listen to the lesson.
Maybe add more time for people who are failing or something, but don't stick kids who are doing great in school into longer days.
The President's speech doesn't become law. H.R. 3200 was not a direct reaction to Obama's election, it was a direct reaction to the Congressional elections.
Nobody ever says his speech becomes law. But his word DOES influence the creation of laws.
I have no formal education in law, so please tell me why the President continues making speeches about internal affairs?
Uhh, because he'll be the one enforcing them.
That's why he has the ability to veto.
He gets a say in what he will and will not enforce. He doesn't get a say in legislation.

History is like Science it's meant to satisfy curiosity.

No, it doesn't.
No, it doesn't.
You are truly an enigma lankist.
I do not understand how this works.
Mind explaining the HEALTHCARE plan to us?

Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

It's necessary to know things that fucked up before so that they don't try to do them now. I can't say much about learning about Greek gods since I don't know what class you're referring to.
Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Also this.
Fuck.

Ancient history isn't so important to go over in detail.
Modern history, or pretty much anything after the 18th century is. When people argue in favor of free market capitalism, I point to the Free market system we had during the industrial revolution, and its many failures.
Not to mention the history of imperialism, and how it fucked up the world.

The specifics of H.R. 3200 have nothing to do with what is and isn't the President's job.
One idiot claimed the President's job is to take the blame for everything.
He then proceeded to argue vehemently about entirely unrelated shit until finally culminating with "Go back to Mexico."
Ancient history isn't so important to go over in detail.
Because it's purely for curiosity.

Go back to Mexico. :ese:
Yeah, increasing the amount of school will definitely help with the budget crisis.
