Sucks shit for all of you poor saps still in the public school system.
Now let's make the finnish summer vacation a bit longer.. So let's see, 9 weeks now.. how about 12 weeks?
My old school has a 3 month summer break.
Who cares?
obviously obama does if he wants to do this in the first place
I never undestood USA kids and their hate to school... I mean, i actually think those 10 years (i skipped 4th class) of my childhood were great and taught me many important life lessons. And even now....two years after i finished my school and entered academy... i still think of school as good old days. inb4 bad grammar ratings.
(i skipped 4th class)
Word. :c00l:
Fuck all those kids, I'm going to college
You can't fix stupid, Obama. You just can't.
You know, one of the reasons why kids hate school is how it's rigid and impersonal. I liked K-4th because our teachers cared, I still have the book my 4th grade teacher gave me as a gift at the end of the year (Every student got a different book, I got "White Fang") It also had a written message saying how I was a bright good natured boy. My Point? Back in K-4th, school was personal, it cared and it was fun. I enjoyed learning and we had alot of field trips. After 4th grade, my school system stopped field trips totally, and teachers don't give a shit about you. Basically my point is, the older you get, the shittier school becomes, the less personal it becomes, and the less you feel like giving a shit. Why should I give a shit when you don't give a shit about me? Fuck that Nevermind that not only does school become less personal, but teachers care less and overall just become dickwads.

School gets shittier and teachers stop giving a shit about you to prepare you for the real world. If high school was like that, you'd expect to see your boss give a shit about you when you get a job in the real world... Also, good thing this is my last year in high school! :hurr:

Either we care and actually get students motivated, thus fucking them up for real life Or we act like the real world and have them drop out.
The problem is parents not properly enforcing the importance of holding a job/school attendance/work ethic. It doesn't matter how amazingly good the curiculum works, or how many more hours the kids are supposed to be in school. If parents don't enforce these ethics early on in their child's development then the kid will probably be a lazy fuck. [sp]I know from first hand experience[/sp]
This is my last year anyways, but still my friends a year under me are gonna get ripped off. On top of that our school is about to get its funding pulled out from under it and its gonna lose all its fine arts and sport programs along with Advanced classes. Causing property value to plumit and the area will turn to shit.
So do we English! We get 7 other weeks off over the course of the year too. 14 weeks off a year, that is still quite a lot. And then there's Weekends. 9 Till 3. We hardly go to school.
Stop being an arrogant asshole and referring to you guys as "us English" like you're better or something It's annoying as fuck and you've done it twice now. Yes, our education system is fucked up. NO YOU DON'T NEED TO BE AN ASSHOLE
Hey everyone, this will never pass. Just because Obama proposed it doesn't mean it will happen. [editline]07:07AM[/editline] Also I think shows that say something along the lines of "School is boring blah blah blah etc" should be banned. Considering that kids start watching said shows when they are probably around 3 years old(An age were they can easily be influenced) it just makes them think school is boring and that they should hate it.
Longer school days means less of a social life and a higher likeliness for ineptness in social situations. More school days means higher stress on students who, if they do all their work, are overworked. Shorter summer vacation means less time to forget what you have learned - on paper that sounds good, but again relates to stress. I don't think Obama's gonna get his way, though. Nobody's gonna support this.
Maybe if they were paid a decent wage
15 page quote but fyi teachers can quite easily make 60-80k a year which is a little more than the economy can pay them Obama really is not giving two shits about the national debt, is he? I'm all for social programs, and I'd consider myself liberal, but he's spending money like a motherfucker. We need to pay off our debt for fucks sake.

Or 2 months is not enough to rest your ass? 4) Nobody under 18 is going to support it, but whaddya know, they have no rights to vote.
This is stuped. I dont think the presedent should be aloud to right laws. Im in public schools and Im just fine, so theirs youre proof mr Barack HUSSEIN (his REAL MIDDLE NAME) Obama that I dont need to learned anything more than I was already.
We need to pay off our debt for fucks sake.
It takes only a bit over year if all of the GDP is converted to cash. To the salt mines James!

This is like adding more wheels to a car to make it faster. Instead, they need to increase the quality of the wheels.
This is like adding more wheels to a car to make it faster. Instead, they need to increase the quality of the wheels.
no, it's more like the driver is too lazy to give a shit and drive the damn car.
I really don't care. No one wants to talk to me unless I'm in school. Edit: Off Topic: Why do you guys say maths? HOW do you even say maths?
:sigh: not this debate again
Well, i am okay with this, I believe the summer is too long as is, But still, Its the Quality of the Education, Not the Quantity.
No.
Hooray! June to September? What the fuck. July to September, fix that shit.
Extra school time won't do shit, it's the quality that is fucked up not the quantity.
That's not the way to get re-elected.
Kids can't vote and I doubt the parents would mind. Now get back in your head-jar, Nixon.
