Wayne patents we need a demo/replay function...
Guys, we’ve been getting some questions about patents we filed a couple years ago. We have no interest in using any patents offensively. The US patent system is broken and needs reform. Many gaming companies -- including us -- are getting attacked by patent trolls. Here’s some good background reading on the topic for those of you who are interested. Our default’s to collaborate. For instance, we’ve given everyone written permission to put our IP to a wide variety of uses. We won’t get in the way of anyone else building awesome spectator features, but we do want to make sure League of Legends players can always spectate freely. If you’re interested in having congress address patent reform, check out https://defendinnovation.org. Riot also campaigned against SOPA/PIPA. They seem pretty intent on appealing to their userbase.
So in the end it's fucking nothing and DotA2 fanboys are blowing things out of proportion yet again. You guys seem to talk more about LoL than actual LoL players.
yeah whats the deal with people bringing up LoL in the thread about the people who made LoL
He meant people talking shit about something they don't understand.. just like your post.
I only took a ponder at the uproar and I can understand some of it. Riot have garnered a bad reputation with all the low-blows they've thrown at Dota 2. What else Is any dota player to expect from them but some form of hostility.

I remember there was a lack of DotA2 at PAX and surprise surprise who did they blame?
jumping to conclusions is logical to do when the company is already confirmed for being douchenozzles to other competing companies [editline]7th February 2014[/editline] that doesn't mean "OBVIOUSLY THEY WILL USE THIS FOR NEFARIOUS PURPOSES" should be the first thought running through peoples' minds or really that it's a correct assumption, just that riot's history and previous attitude makes it hard not to think that
oh and http://www.riotgames.com/articles/20140206/1165/no-interest-using-patents-offensively
jumping to conclusions is logical to do when the company is already confirmed for being douchenozzles to other competing companies
This isn't the first time DotA2 fanboys have jumped to conclusions and ended up being wrong.
Or how about just not jumping to conclusions? I remember there was a lack of DotA2 at PAX and surprise surprise who did they blame?
Wasn't that eventually cleared up and mentioned how that was partially because Dota 2 had no LAN support at the time?
I think overall Riot has done more good than bad or in the middle at least, they aren't anywhere near the level of say EA or Microsoft. [editline]7th February 2014[/editline] RIP Rareware
Wasn't that eventually cleared up and mentioned how that was partially because Dota 2 had no LAN support at the time?
LoL doesn't have LAN support either, I think it was because companies had to pay to get their games on the computers at PAX and Valve didn't pay for DotA2.
This isn't the first time DotA2 fanboys have jumped to conclusions and ended up being wrong.
What exactly are you aiming at? are you trying to imply It's "Dota2 fanboys" alone that act In this manner? the entire LoL reddit thread regarding this matter has devolved Into nothing but a 180 circlejerk with the exact same manner as those so called Dota fanboys. But I can just recall from past posts arguing anything dota/lol related with you wont result In a balanced discussion. And before you plop me In with those fanboys, I thoroughly enjoy LoL, just not riot so much.
So in the end it's fucking nothing and DotA2 fanboys are blowing things out of proportion yet again. You guys seem to talk more about LoL than actual LoL players.
lmfao you instantly assume all the people talking bad are dota players
How uninformed is everyone? Most software patents are defensive. They're not going to go after games that implement stuff like this, they're just securing themselves in case other companies try to attack them with similar patents.
