Offer a homebrew clone for a couple of dollars.
No, native homebrew support on all consoles.
There is always a way to get through it.
Who the fuck would pirate a nintendo game?
Yeah right.
Silly Nintendo. You have no idea.
Apart from 256 bit encryptions
It's only a matter of time.
Anyone remember the story of how Kevin Mitnick hacked a supposedly unhackable computer? It was at some electronics expo and member of the development team there made a bet that no one could hack their system, only to find Mitnick printing out their entire source code with full administrative privileges.
I give it 3 weeks before somebody cracks it.
I remember the DSi was suppose to have uncrackable security was cracked in 2 weeks or so
Super Nerd Penis Extension: The Game ie probably Mass Effect.
it was bioshock. bioshock 1 to be precise.
2.5 days Thats all I give it
Wait a minute... This seems like a money pit trap. Doesn't it seem odd that their directly calling out hackers to try and hack the 3DS for Homebrew? If anything this is a way to trick idiots into buying the 3DS because their tempted to try and hack it.
or maybe you're thinking too hard into this
Or maybe I'm thinking like an evil corporate guy with half a brain.
3D isn't very effective for people with one eye, so it's already anti-piracy.
Sheer excellence in this post
Or maybe I'm thinking like an evil corporate guy with half a brain.
I don't think that anyone would be so foolish as to target the pirate demographic by challenging them.
Nice try Nintendo.
Sorry, Nintendo. An onboard SD card slot? A nifty 3D screen? You're just asking for it. [editline]lol[/editline] Just in: White Star Line declares the RMS titanic "unsinkable" due to innovations in maritime technology.
Hell look how easy the psp was hacked. They used a script inside of a ttf image.
Yeah one thing that these idiots do not seem to grasp. If the hardware is there and a game is there the crackers will find a way to crack it like it or not that is how it is. If you can get rid of the physical medium then you can make it uncrackable, think of producing the screen images on a server somewhere then sending the images to the hand held screen, even then it will have flaws. OH well I wonder how long this lasts before they are made to look like the idiots that they are.
For a person to pirate a videogame, one must have the proper console in the first place. You can't play an XBOX 360 game on a DS or a nintendo Wii on an SNES. [editline]31st January 2011[/editline] In other words, for pirates to pirate the 3DS, they must buy the 3DS [editline]31st January 2011[/editline] And then when the 3DS is finally hacked, Nintendo will released the 3DS Lite
crackers gonna crack
what why are you blaming Nintendo for what 3rd parties do
I just thought that Nintendo could easily say "no, you're not releasing it on our console", but then again they don't care that much, considering the fact they're just doing the same thing everyone else is doing regarding movie/franchise/TV series games. That and it's easy money for them. But on the other hand, there's already enough comparisons to how bad it is to say something like this. I thought Nintendo would have more common sense...

Like every hacker worth their salt won't be working immediately from it's release to claim internet glory for the first hack.
what reason is there to NOT let a third party release a game on their console you act like crap third party titles somehow replace the good games
See: Starfox Adventures, Starfox Assault, Boom Blox, Boom Blox "2", Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle... You get the point.
They never said it was uncrackable, they just said "if you went and made bold statements saying ‘this is uncrackable’…" leaving you to interpret the statement.
This is true. Rate everyone bad reading :/
Challenge Accepted.
Agreed.
Apart from 256 bit encryptions
The DS was cracked loooong before they reverse engineered the encryption.
