No link between MMR and autism, major study concludes
A major study published in one of the world’s leading medical journals has concluded that there is no link between the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccination and autism in children.
The findings from the study of a cohort of around 95,000 children will not surprise most scientists, who have been reassuring parents of the jab’s safety for 17 years, since the publication of now discredited research by the gastroenterologist Andrew Wakefield.
But the belief that autism and vaccinations are linked continues to cause many parents to decide against having their children immunised. As a result there have been avoidable measles outbreaks, including one in the US last year, which began in Disneyland in California in December and led to school closures and quarantine measures. In all, 159 children were diagnosed with measles across 18 states. The repercussions continue, as US doctors attempt to bring in legislation to prevent parents opting out of vaccination for their children on the grounds of “personal belief”, while activists accuse scientists of being in the pockets of drug companies.
Yeah. No shit.
Another study to be disregarded as a product of the medical autism conspiracy by the anti-vaccination crowd.

LMAO these comments.
I swear I thought this meant MMR from League linking Bronzies with autism and I was like 'wow that's kinda fucked up I think?'
Imagine that.

See these people don't actually care about the science at all, they have their world view and they will just ignore anything contrary to it.
Honestly I never understood how a vaccine could be related with autism. I'm not a complete biology nerd but isn't Autism something you are born with? How could those two be related in any way?

Because modern vaccines are largely chemicals that are synthetic or that they can't explain.
That's literally the reason a lot of anti-vac people cite.

by that reasoning the beers they chug should give 'em autism as well

but then again, people who care about their MMR in video games do have mild autism

Natural Selection has lost its touch...
Is there a study on the effects of multiple vaccines at once? Like someone might not have a reaction to one vaccine, but might have a severe reaction to multiple vaccines. (Different kinds, not just the same type)

Do you know what MMR is?
Do you know what MMR is?
Measles Mumps and Rubella, and I'm talking about the other shots like hepatitis B.
Don't get me wrong, the pharmaceutical industry does have a hand in government and has pretty obvious corruption problems, but the whole anti-vaccination theory is unbelievably stupid and dangerous. People fucking die because they are convinced not to get vaccines.

MMR stands for Measles Mumps Rubella, it's a triple vaccine that protects against all three.

Also they don't do it any more, but in the past you used to take like 10+ shots or more at once when you were young, and that clearly didn't do anything badly wrong.

even so, there's no reason to believe they cause any form of autism. there is 0 scientific evidence any concoction of safely administered vaccines will be a cause of autism.

Oh, Sally
If anyone ever wanted to see what the effect of slashing funding to education is, congratulations, you're watching it happen live.
I'm fully in favour of Colorado's model for its cannabis sales, and I hope the funding goldmine it provides stimulates the spread of legalization (for all of the benefits it brings). Taxes on weed go to education, less any surplus reimbursements. The kids grow up in better-funded classrooms, and parents like these antivax fucks hopefully chill out and do some actual thinking for once. Everyone wins.
So...like, the anti-vaccers who are against these studies because "ughhhh big pharma at it again!" are really fucking confusing me. The Wakefield study that caused all this bullshit in the first place is the definition of a "big pharma" study, a study done to purposefully de-legitimise something so a company could push their alternative.
Everything anti-vaccination is born from that one study. How can you be so oblivious to call every study into the subject "corrupt" when the study you live by itself was the corrupt study.
I don't see that happening with these studies.

But don't you see, those are the exact talking points Big Pharma wants you to use.
They're confusing the scientific process (something they don't understand) with conspiracy.
these guys have obviously never been in a sub 3k ranked match, there is literally only autism in that shit tier

ROFL, at your comment, how can you not see that Big Pharma is using its propaganda machine to make you think you really needed vaccination? It is all about money for Big Pharma. You are probably also one of these guys who criticize the revolutionary treatment of autism with bleach enemas.
I have enough of this, time to drink my own urine to get rid of the toxins in my body.
