Hahah this is true maybe. My friends and I are PC enthusiasts so we admire the beauty in different things like that. The point is that if no one cares about how smooth your edges look, why care about utilizing Anti Aliasing? Why push for a solid 60FPS when 30FPS works fine with casual gamers?
I do care how much AA i have on my games because such simple thing can turn a monster into a beauty.
60 FPS feels a LOT smother than 30, i see no meaning in getting more than 60 thou.

Non smooth edges look horrible on non-HD TV's and the amount of power that can be squeezed out of running the game in 30 FPS, not 60, makes it completely worth it.
For me it sounds like an excuse. I don't know where Crytek gets off saying anything about anything. What, just because "casual" gamers don't come to your forums and perform oral sex in text format, it means they don't appreciate it? Bullshit. There's more competition in the console game world, deal with it. I find Crytek's attitude insufferable. Gabe's been respectful in this issue, this guy is just whining even though Crytek's entire career (we cannot deny this) has been based on technological fetishism, something that doesn't work on consoles.
Okay, I see your argument, and now that I think about it, you're right. How would Crytek really know if they appreciate it? I suppose you can gauge success of games with less development standards. But that's kinda pointless.
"lololol conslz suckorz lol PC iz teh bestz"
:bandwagon:
Leave MY bandwagon alone, you imbecile!
Console games have to be dumbed down to be accessible to the masses and operable due to the limiations of the console controls. Seeing as the largest share of the market in this field belongs to the area of consoles and console games game devs will select consoles over PC's thus destroying progress.
And this is why console gaming and pc gaming should be completely separated.
When making a game for a PC one should focus on that platform, instead of trying to make the said game for all the platforms.

Not entirely. Mass Effect 2 is a great RPG with depth and it sold well on the console.

This is true but I do agree with him. The amount of buttons on a controller does not even compare with the amount of keys on a keyboard. For some games it works well on both but for some it would never work. Try getting ArmA 2 on the Xbox or PS3.

But who plays ArmA? Only the hardcore of the PC base. You're right about a few things, like the loss of prone in games is mostly due to console styled gameplay.

Why do you guys feel the need to fight over this shit?

Because someone is wrong on the internet, I HAVE TO STOP THEM!

You are correct in that, most games don't require the huge amount of buttons that ArmA does.
Go back to MW2.

I think you're misunderstanding his argument
I had a PS1 and PS2 and moved on to a PC simply because everything about it is better. When the PS3 came out I thought everyone was joking when they were going crazy about it.
And then the Wii, spare me the memories...
This thread=ITT:Console wars.
Rated you clocks since anyone with common sense can figure it out.

i felt horrible when i dismissed it, like a part of me was missing
It's hilarious that it says we've grown up now and then I think about the gold members forum.
I have nothing against the PS3 or Xbox360, jut the goddamn community.
The fuck happened to the thread.

I called everyone's opinions dumb.
You guys are all yelling over nothing. Consolefags, the ones we're referring to, don't browse web forums! They're the typical douchebag that plays MW2 and doesn't realize PCs exist. Since they don't go to web forums, we hardly know they exist. They're definitely a huge group of people though.
I'm a console gamer and i brouse web forums, i'm not a douche bag MW2 is fun but it's all about Mass Effect 2, and i'm on a PC right now so i obviously know what a PC is.
Your just to retarded to relize that us console gamers rule the world because your to busy playing WOW, i'm guessing your a level 40 virgin
Well the arguments are yes, the thread is about casual gamers not caring as much about the efforts high end studios like Crytek and Valve put into their games. I mean, I think many casual gamers will see the EA publishing logo and assume EA made the game.

I think the appreciation for smaller things may be ignored but as a whole, people generally buy the games that are the most fun. And that comes from gameplay in general I think. The point is you can make a fun game and not care about the visuals.
