Why does it seem that everyone are assuming North Korea is going to fight conventionally against some of the world's most advance armies?
Makes no sense.
It's just that North Korea is one unreliable country. For example the artillery strike on the South Korean island 1-2 years ago.
You're retarded. Iraq had a semi-capable military. The reason that NATO kicked the crap out of the Iraqi army was for a few reasons, mainly because NATO tanks could completely out class the Iraqi tanks, both in range, maneuverability and firepower. They also had a near non-existent Airforce, which made it so much easier for NATO to gain air superiority.
(I know this is probably being pedantic, but Iraq invasion was not a conflict between NATO and Iraq, but the us, uk, Australia, Poland and Peshmerga against Iraq. Many NATO countries said no to being in the invasion force.)
I wish North Korea would just shut the fuck up, this bullshit is absolutely nonsensical. What can they possibly achieve as a country? Pissing of other countries and damaging them only for being raped by nearly the whole world through sanctions, warfare or denounciation.

Correct you are, I don't know why I was thinking NATO, I'll fix that.
I'm not saying they wouldn't be defeated - I'm just saying they have the capability of doing serious damage before being defeated.

I'm pretty sure, even considering NK is entrenched into their own land, that they understand waging any sort of war is suicide.
Why are they getting so volatile all of a sudden? I've heard them throw a bunch of threats, but no real reasoning. Is it just because they're mad about the sanctions?

Somebody told Kim that he has a small dick.

Seriously have you been living under a rock dude?
They've been like this for years, maybe even decades.
It's just that North Korea is one unreliable country. For example the artillery strike on the South Korean island 1-2 years ago.
I know they are unreliable, but I don't think they retarded. I'm fairly certain that they'd be fighting asymmetrically, just like how most "weaker" nations have done when facing a stronger opponent.

Well then we must've started covering them a lot more in the news recently, because six months ago we saw an article about North Korea in here only about once a month.
NK will be fooked
Basically it will mostly be South Korea(Korea after the war),parts will be China and probably a small Russian part.
Why does it seem that everyone are assuming North Korea is going to fight conventionally against some of the world's most advance armies?

Because they have a shitload of soldiers.

Russia and China would probably not want it on their hands, they probably would just as happy to hand it over to SK.
Why do I feel that if NK goes to war with someone they'll commit a bunch of war crimes
Why do I feel that if NK goes to war with someone they'll commit a bunch of war crimes
Because they have committed tons in the past.
Because they have a shitload of soldiers.
Shitload of soldiers doesn't mean anything if you don't have the resources to maintain them.

Saddam tried to do it, and I would be entirely unsurprised if NK's command elements were brainwashed enough to think they could pull off a conventional fight.
does anyone care that NK has arty/missile pieces pointed at Seoul and can fire them at any time to inflict massive amounts of civy casualties and destruction?
How long until they ask for more aid?
You're retarded.
Why would you say that?
Why do you think it improves your arguement? jesus christ
I feel it might be less. They seem incredibly stupid/overconfident at the moment
There's nothing stupid about what they're doing. When every last diplomatic option has been expended, and your people are starving and there's nothing left... They'd be incredibly stupid not to go to war.
At this point, their choice is die, or die fighting. The choice is obvious.
Don't even pull human rights violations and shit. There is no reason why North Korea should be sanctioned out the arse like they are. Look at all the countries that don't have a great human rights record, like Russia, that get a hall pass on this shit just because it isn't convenient for the great power to make a big deal about it. It boils down to a couple things: North Korea is able to be bullied, and there are substantial ideological differences.
So yeah, war is the only diplomatic option left on the table, and it would disappoint me to see that a country wouldn't fight as it drew its last breath, all the world strangling the life out of it.
Iraq was just a bunch of dirty insurgents. NK has an actual military
An insurgency by definition means they were fighting the current government. So how exactly do you propose the war to topple Saddam's government started by fighting his insurgents?
I'm so fucking fed up with these morons, oh my god.
Seriously, it's like having a small child with an ego issue begging for attention
It's not like. It is. That's all North Korea is. They're a whiny little shit that's throwing a temper tantrum on the world stage.
This was said in every thread, but no, you are wrong. NK has a sizable military, and their weaponry, despite being a bunch of old Soviet junk, is still capable of launching bullets in the enemy's general direction. Such a war would be far worse than what you think it would be
Do they even have the logistical capabilities?
Do they have the ability to maintain their shitty, underfed, underarmed, undereducated, poverty-stricken, stunted soldiers who have a corrupt general staff, backwards military tactics and strategy, outdated equipment and are diplomatically isolated?
Interesting how most fpers rated the first few threads about NK funny and now everyone's beginning to worry.
This is just like the beginning of WWII. A few years after Hitler took command, he began expansion by force (Sudetenland, anybody?) and most leaders tried to appease Adolf (like Chamberlain having meetings with Hitler). Once Germany began rearming and expanding by force, other countries should have intervened with their militaries. Instead, countries declared war AFTER Hitler began the invasion of the Rhineland into France. These threats by NK shouldn't be taken lightly.

The difference is that the North Korean economy is on a lifeline and is diplomatically isolated and is run by incompetent fuckwits with a shit military.

I might be shit on for this, but people need to remember that this is what the media do. Yes, North Korea has made threats in the past and has violated the armistice many times already, with sinking the SK Ship and Bombarding that Island. The fact they've officially cancelled it is a lot more extreme and the media is running it like mad, which is why we're suddenly getting a new story every hour.
As worrying as this is, I think a large part of it is media blowout and speculation.
I don't believe that a war will come anytime soon. The "people" running the country probably have a good idea what would happen if they were to piss off the US, SK, and others. The only way they can stay in power is by staying out of a war. There is no Soviet Union to back them up and China isn't going to help them again.
Or the "people" running the country are pure morons who will sacrifice millions of its own people (not really a stretch for them anyways) and perhaps murder millions of South Korean civilians for an extremely pointless war because they think they are still militarily relevant and that China will come to the rescue.
North Korea is not going to be an easy country to beat, stop shitting on them. They have one of the largest militaries in the word. They have over A MILLION active military personnel, and are capable of conscripting six more million whenever shit goes south. They have stockpiles and stockpiles of tanks and artillery, the latter of which is aimed at Seoul ( So, in the end, the capital of South Korea WILL be blown to smithereens, many will die, and it will take years to repair and rebuild. ) They also have something like twenty nuclear silos, and we know they can shoot at least as far as Japan, meaning they can at will destroy South Korea. We don't know if those warheads can be intercepted in such a short distance.
Secondly, the North Korean military strategy and regime and just about everything is designed to counter the United States. They KNOW they have crappier equipment, and so they have designed tactics to circumvent that. Their propaganda statues are positioned at main roads to be destroyed and used as road blocks, they have bomb shelters in their apartment building, on and so forth. USA can't just NUKE them, nobody would let them, they would be killing countless of millions of innocent oppressed people. As for air superiority, sure, but - . . . Technology doesn't win in the air all the time, either. Serbia shot down supposedly 'invisible' American spy plains with old Russian equipment, probably as old or older than what North Korea has.
In finality, that'd be the bloodiest, cruellest war since WW2, and none of you should be looking forward to it. Millions will die.
Sometimes I think they just plan on trying to launch as many nukes as they can before retreating the wealthy elite population into those hidden secret tunnels and riding out the nuclear winter.
