So Beats is worth about 1/6th of Whatsapp and 1.5x Oculus Rift. Doesn't seem right to me.
Buy an iPhone for 800€ That doesn't phase you at all?
Didn't htc have a stake in beats? My One X came with some beats logo on the back and the option to turn on "beats audio".
That's a whole hell of a lot of money for some headphones. Feels like Dre is just scamming apple.

Apple is fully aware of what they're buying
iPhones, Macbook's, and beats are probably the three most used technology devices by High Schoolers, at least from what I've seen. Makes a lot more sense when I think of it that way.
If new Apple handsets had those front facing Beats speakers that HTC had in the one then that would be great, apple speakers on their phones are some of the worst out of any smartphone.
Dre getting rich as fuck
He could buy all of LA with that.
So Beats is worth about 1/6th of Whatsapp and 1.5x Oculus Rift. Doesn't seem right to me.
Thinking about the user bases? That's not surprising at all, especially being worth more than Oculus.
So Beats is worth about 1/6th of Whatsapp and 1.5x Oculus Rift. Doesn't seem right to me.
Well, chances are the Rift will never be as profitable as Beats ever were.
So great, one overpriced piece of shit company that relies entirely on brand recognition has been bought out by another overpriced piece of shit company that relies entirely on brand recognition.
So great, one overpriced piece of shit company that relies entirely on brand recognition has been bought out by another overpriced piece of shit company that relies entirely on brand recognition.
why are you so upset about this not like you are forced to buy every new iphone at gunpoint
"an apple a day keeps the doctor away unless if the apple is offering 3.2 billion" holy shit youtube
rip htc
rip htc
Beats Audio was just a marketing gimmick, it's just an Equaliser app. There are no hardware advantages usually. Not like those included earphones are any better than the rest either
Honestly, I don't see why this could be too bad. Apple generally has really well made, functional, fluent and cosemetically appealing products. Yes, they do overprice like mad but in the long run if they do decide to initiate beats again then they will most likely be a much more capable headphone for a similar price point, and it almost guarantees a better headphone/headset with most apple products anyways. The EarPods were pretty well done for how cheap they are, so maybe we could see even better? Not an apple fanboy or anything, just sayin.

iBeats sounds like something Chris Brown would put out.
Wonder if Dr. Dre will make music again after this.
Wonder if Dr. Dre will make music again after this.
Detox maybe. Like that'll happen.
So Beats is worth about 1/6th of Whatsapp and 1.5x Oculus Rift. Doesn't seem right to me.
Beats by itself probably doesn't have a lot of unique technology behind it. They might say all they want, but in the end they're buying beats mostly for the trademark. OR and Whatsapp probably have a significant tech catalog.
Another overpriced item to add to their catalogue.
