They did. No two nuclear armed countries can realistically declare war on each other.
so the realistic solution is for everybody to have nukes
so the realistic solution is for everybody to have nukes
Crazy as it may sound, yes, in a limited fashion. You can't let everyone have them of course.
so the realistic solution is for everybody to have nukes
well there is this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massive_retaliation but that still doesn't stop some crazy dude from just not giving a shit and firing off all their nukes at someone, not caring about the consequences. this is getting quite off topic though. it would be pretty damn awesome to have some exo-skeleton like this but for civilian use. like some really expensive toy that enables you to run really fast or jump really high or something. it'd also be interesting to find out more how it could help people with spine damage to walk again.
forgive me, but it doesn't look like it offers much protection what about if they added some kind of metal frame around some parts, would it not be more practical then an offer more protection? i'm not talking about a full on suit.. just... wider parts to cover the flesh.
They can't add bulletproof protection to the various robotic suits yet, that would be very uncomfortable. They have to find a way to be able to fit the frame so it fits the human body comfortably and then they can add whatever protective measures they need. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
In reality, those Power Armor suits would be impossible to move in, they weigh that much.
The whole idea of power suits is that they augment your body, and mainly support themselves. Not the other way around.
Pretty good tank, Abrams still has better armor though.
No one can really say, with the actual protective qualities of modern tank armor being a closely guarded secret. But as a measure, the 3rd generation DU armor introduced in the M1A2 SEP v1 upgrade suit is at least 10 years old.
Really, really, really cool, but I've seen that image like, 10 times now. Didn't they have this on like, 08?
Can't wait for the future of combat to be soldiers sprinting around at bicycle speeds with light machine guns.
You mean like in MW2?
all that's left is to discover a giant ring developed by an advanced ancient species
Why exactly would someone want a tank to lean?
I would assume to give the operators more options when attempting to hit a target. I agree though it doesn't sound particularly practical.
I would assume to give the operators more options when attempting to hit a target.
