Its called making a point. Though the scale is a bit off.
that's not making a point, that's called making your opponent argue a point they weren't arguing to begin with.
AKA strawman
Should we build a gold statue for Saddam Hussein in Washington DC and create a national holiday for him just because he died?
Personally, I think we should.
Its called making a point. Though the scale is a bit off.
it's actually called reductio ad ridiculum (which is a logical fallacy)
Alright would you mind explaining how people work with your infinite wisdom of human psychology?
Last time I checked the average person doesn't care if an asshole or person they don't know dies.
whitney houston
You don't fucking get it, at all.
Not every human life is sacred and needs to be mourned at death.
Am I going to feel sad when the last member of the Beatles dies? Yes, because they made amazing music and were great people.
Do I feel sad because some douchebag that ruined the lives of people for personal wealth died? Hell no because he was an asshole and doesn't deserved to be mourned.
Should we build a gold statue for Saddam Hussein in Washington DC and create a national holiday for him just because he died?
man I can see the smoke from that strawman all the way from here
must have been a real big one
Um Whitney Houston didn't ruin the lives of people to gain her wealth.
Also she made music and had millions of fans.
do you really think all of her fans knew her? what about the millions who posted 'rip whitney' on twitter and facebook? this isn't rocket science
anyway yeah stop saying stupid things so i don't feel obliged to reply because this is really a waste of time arguing with you
Um Whitney Houston didn't ruin the lives of people to gain her wealth.
She took craploads of drugs and didn't care about the people around her, and simply went on for the fame and fortune.
She took craploads of drugs and didn't care about the people around her, and simply went on for the fame and fortune.
But did she purposefully try to ruin several people's lives by editing videos of them to make them seem worse than they really are, in order to further a personal agenda?
Are you fucking serious?
Let me give you an example, did Michael Jackson's fans know him personally? No, did they know his music? Yes, his music was extremely popular and a lot of people were sad when he died. Why? Because his music emotionally touched millions of people during the 80's.
I can't believe you're calling me the stupid one when you can't understand basic shit like this, you don't have to literally know someone to be saddened by their death.
wow
took you long enough
Since you seem to have downs syndrome let me explain what I meant by "Last time I checked the average person doesn't care if a person they don't know dies.", what I meant was someone they didn't even know exists.
...what makes you so sure that we never knew about him?
[editline]1st March 2012[/editline]
seriously, you're just drowning in your own bullshit now
Seems like a douchebag, but it's still sad that he died that young.
You're not even making any sense now.
Now I know why people compare agreeing with you to pulling teeth.
now you're just trying to defend your ego

good night sweet prinse
Pretty low mocking a dead guy, even if you disagreed with his politics.
It's not a manner of disagreement, he was an evil little shit.
He got so full of shit he finally exploded.
Good riddance.
While I feel sorry for his children and his wife, I feel the same way Hitchens felt about Falwell.
This is sad and all but... Who the fuck is Andrew Breitbart?

All you need to know. Well, there's probably more, but that's probably the most important. He also disclosed Anthony Weiner's personal images, which subsequently led to his outing from the congress, mostly due to political pressure.

Only time I heard of him until today, pretty sums him up for you if you have no idea who he is. Sorry it's a goddamn Amazing Atheist video, but it's sums him up fairly well
Ahh, the guy who wanted rape victims to die in rape semen. Now there's someone I wouldn't mind reading an obituary for.
lmao
fox just played a "Remembering Breitbart" segment where they briefly revealed that he edited video to make a woman lose her position for being racist, and then, ignoring that fact, went on to praise him for being a maverick reporter fighting the lies of mainstream media

I think they need to invent a number lower than negative infinity to express how respectable TAA is
Some of the responses here make me sick.
it's called ~common decency~
Something Breitbart did not possess.

Tamest sex scandal in the world and he still folded.

Do expand, I'd like to hear an opposing view.
What he did was despicable in my view, harming hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Americans by trying to remove an institution that has improved the lives of the poor and the middle class for the last 40 years. He knowingly deceived people into believing a goverment official was racist, having her fired, and then after she was hired back stumbling for an excuse instead of apologizing. Or, maybe yelling at people accusing them of rape & murder, and then going on a news channel telling the host it was a stunt, and "payback". (which incidentally was his last interview, with Current TV's Cenk Uygur).
In fact, he compiled a list of rapes at the Occupy movement, many of the listings were doubled, and nearly all of them were by people outside of the movement, or not involved with the movement entirely. I don't think this deserves much weight, and given that many here on FP are in favor of the movement, but it's something to consider. It's not exactly a good thing to associate a moment with criminal acts through lies.
And, last but not least,
"we outnumber the liberals, and we have guns" (paraphrasing, I'm too lazy to watch the damn thing).
Haven't we already had a congressman shot, let alone 6 other people dead, and 14 injured? I find it rather contemptible what he did in his short 15 minutes of fame. I'm sure he's a good guy IRL, and my condolences go out to his family (surely they're reading FP) but I think the world is better off with him. I don't think anyone should die, and I don't think living people deserve the phrase "the world would be better off without you" but in retrospect I can say yes, it would of.
edit:
And lets not forget what he said about Ted Kennedy's death. Absolutely disgusting. Talking ill of the dead is not my thing, It's his.

He also assisted James O' Keefe with his (heavily edited) ACORN video which nonetheless killed the organization
