• US Soldier 'Kills 16' Afghans In Their Homes

A lot of stuff happens in Afghanistan. Lots of dying, whether its US Marines or Taliban. Most likely saw some marines die by Afghans, gets enraged and kills senselessly for it, but that's just a speculation. Still messed up, then again accidentally burning a religious book causes a bunch of soldiers to die with out reason but vengeance
war can do terrible things to a man
Sorry to pull Godwin But Hitler probably went insane due to shell-shock in WW1, and felt betrayed by the signing of the Treaty.
war can do terrible things to a man
I kinda doubt with the state of the conflict he was driven this way via the war.
I think this was probably in retaliation for US troops being murdered over the Quran burning.

Can't we just agree that this is a terrible event and stop with the senseless U.S bashing?
Yes, it was only one man atleast this time, blame should be only placed where it is due.
why is 'kill 16' in quote marks?
The army needs better psychological screening as well as better outlets for troubled soldiers to get help. These tragedies completely undermine what we're doing over there, which is terrible considering even the smallest gains we make are huge for us.
This is terrible. Like Led Zeppelin said, we need more psychological screening in the military.
He probably recently loss a very close friend to the taliban and broke down and decided to kill a bunch of innocent afghan civilians.
the only nato / american presence in the area this shooting took place is a district center and small special forces base
This is why we need to leave, nothing good will come trying to help Afghanistan, it will just delve back into how it was before.
Video games caused this.
He probably recently loss a very close friend to the taliban and broke down and decided to kill a bunch of innocent afghan civilians.
Killing civilians because the taliban killed his friend. Hey it's like when that taliban kid killed those french soldiers because americans pissed on the bodies of his dead comrades. [editline]11th March 2012[/editline] Everyone called that kid retarded.
Sadly, suicide bombings are starting to become the logical consequence after these stories.
This is going to piss off a lot of afghans and the number of people joining the taliban is going to increase
This is going to piss off a lot of afghans and the number of people joining the taliban is going to increase
Nothing could be done anyway. It's not like someone ordered him to kill the civilians.
Am I the only one who is pissed off by this? (quote from BBC):
President Karzai called the killings "unforgivable" and demanded an explanation from the US.
Karzai is such an idiot, unforgivable? Yeah it's really terrible that this happened, but to not be able to forgive the US because of the actions of *one* of its soldiers, who did this for purely psychological reasons, is stupid and really ignorant. Surely Karzai realises that not all US troops are like this. What sort of explanation does he want anyway? One man had some sort of mental breakdown and went on a shooting spree. There's not a whole lot more to it, other than maybe finding out more about the soldier's past and then scrutinising the way mental health is dealt with in the armed forces.
So you don't have the decency to atleast understand Karzai but instead you go on the offensive and "get pissed"?

Going Postal.
And Americans wonder why the middle east hate them so much.
That is just fine with me, and I never wanted to have foreign intervention with any type of conflict. I'd personally wish we'd just stay out of it. Great generalization though, you are sure to win the hearts and minds of millions with that one.
This guy could have cracked under the pressures of war, but I think it's also possible he's just one of those gung ho "WAR! YEAH!" guys. You know, the kind of guy who thinks it's cool to kill them all and let God sort them out. These guys are mostly held in check by their commanders, but all it takes is one day he's pissed off for some reason and maybe he gets drunk or something, then decides "Fuck it, I'm gonna go out there and kill me some Taliban"- next thing you know, rampage!
Congratulations. Now there will be more people wanting to become Taliban.
AMERICAN HERO :patriot:
AMERICAN HERO :patriot:
I hope to god you're being ironic.
I hope to god you're being ironic.
Of course. I'm not even American. Thank god (also ironic I'm not even religious)
Of course. I'm not even American. Thank god
Fuck off
