haha holy shit who even allows this
My crayon goes "pew pew" *forced to sign an unenforceable contract and have a mandatory psych evaluation* The next thing you'll be telling me is that people who attempt suicide shall be punished by death.
This is what makes me sad about aspiring to be a teacher. I don't have the money, probably never will, to go to Europe, so I'll have to stick with this lot.
Schools in the US are managed almost entirely by the local government, with some standards on curriculum set by higher state and federal levels, meaning that the United States effectively has almost 90,000 school systems operating almost completely independent of each other, not counting privately run ones. You're off your rocker if you think they're all the same, especially since this particular incident occurred at the level of a single school, of which districts can have potentially dozens of.
There are so many things wrong with this legally, let alone morally.
If you could kill or commit suicide with just a crayon I will be impressed.
I swear there was an image of Judge Dredd forcing someone to not kill themselves by threatening to arrest them if they did but I can't find it now. Anyone got it? Cause I think it'd work perfectly here.
If you could kill or commit suicide with just a crayon I will be impressed.
I mean, I guess you could choke yourself with a crayon if you're 5, with maybe one of those Jumbo Crayons.
I live in Mobile, this place is wack never come here
I live in Mobile, this place is wack never come here
Is it filled with mobile homes?
i got sent to the principle for making a gun with my fingers in 1st grade, and again when i was looking around the room when the teacher was talking to me (she thought i was rolling my eyes at her)
Look for the brooding lonely kids and help them out.
Also keep in mind that perhaps the brooding lonely kids simply don't enjoy social contact and are quite happy being alone. I was one of them. I never had any ideations of killing anyone, never had any bouts of depression, none of that. I just didn't enjoy social contact and spent my days as far away from the other kids as I could manage. There's nothing wrong with that and trying to force people like me to be social is tantamount to torture.
We do this with Mental Health patients all the time. Honestly it's not supposed to seem like a "legally binding" contract, it's just meant to be a written agreement and assurance that you won't harm yourself since there's really no alternative. We can ask pretty please don't kill yourself??? Which isn't much better.
What in the absolute fuck is america's school system coming to
it's on it's path to abysmal and beyond shitty.
Waterboard the little brat We must know her terrorist secrets
What if she does kill herself? How would they enforce that breach of contract? By keeping her from going to school? Too late for that shit.
That is up to the skeletons to decide
what the hell is this http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/girl-5-made-to-sign-school-suicide-and-homicide-contract-after-pointing-crayon-gun-at-classmate-9789499.html
I'm surprised this wasn't California. Given our schools being part of the worst education system in the country, coupled with the increasingly leftist attitudes in our state especially, I just immediately assumed it was us.
I remember drawing like massive battles between a race of dog people and cat people (dog people always because dogs own) where I regularly had things blowing up getting shot and cut in half, and I never got in trouble for it, not even a second glance, and this was while I was in Catholic School, jeez. I can't wait to see how soft this next generation is gonna be if we keep up with stuff like this.
I remember I drew a bloody battle scene where in one corner a man was chained to a rock with a soldier pointing a sword at him. The man was yelling at the soldier "Come and fight me you pussy!" The teacher took the picture away from me and went up to his desk, when he came back a few minutes later he handed the picture back, he had crossed out the word 'pussy' and added the word 'coward'.
Because kids who sign a contract are definitely likely to follow said contract. Why do you think porn sites with the button that says "I am over 18 years of age" has been so successful in keeping kids out of porn sites?
Remember kids, having an imagination is a psychological disorder that must have serious evaluation. :downs:
Sounds like something straight out of a Pink Floyd album. "Do we have any dreamers tonight? Anyone with an imagination? GET AGAINST THE WALL!"
I never knew crayons were sharp and deadly.
Good thing too, they can charge her with breaking the terms of the contract if she kills somebody.
And/or herself.
My school never made me sign one of these when I threatened to choke a kid when he tore apart my lego space ship in kindergarten, or when I almost punched a kid for the same reason. Don't mess with my legos.
absolutely sick. Im revolted
Look at these fuckers. They're in detention with kids who managed to kill themselves for trying to kill themselves in school after clearly being contractually obliged not to.
What in the absolute fuck is america's school system coming to
You realize there's no national school system, right I'd figure you'd be hard pressed to find something like this in New York.
Good thing too, they can charge her with breaking the terms of the contract if she kills somebody.
What happens if she kills herself instead?
I'm surprised this wasn't California. Given our schools being part of the worst education system in the country, coupled with the increasingly leftist attitudes in our state especially, I just immediately assumed it was us.
This couldn't be any further from the truth. I grew up in California and this shit never happens. Also no idea why people are always saying 'only in America' when it's the biggest fallacy of composition committed on Facepunch. This shit would never fly here. Maybe it's because it's in the South.
Jokes on them, contracts with minors are unenforceable, and can be cancelled at any time by the minor without repercussion
At this point I fear the administration is more fucked in the head than a shooter would be.
This went too far and the only possible outcome is mass sterilization
