• Canadian school outright bans touching

I fractured my thumb playing midnight, scraped my knees severely playing bullrush on concrete and given myself a concussion running into a brick wall, all while at school. That shit was the best time of my life. This is just crazy and over-protectiveness at the cost of kids childhoods. Let kids be kids.
I'd understand if this was something that existed to make life easier for punishing other activities that involve touching but would be taboo to ban explicitly. E.g. if they know a kid's stealing lunch money but have no proof of it, they could use the no touching rule to send a message. A bit like how it's an offence in the UK not to be on the electoral register; even though nobody has been prosecuted (ever); or how the FBI used to prosecute gangsters on tax evasion instead of gang related activity. But, doesn't look like it..
Write an angry email to the school board about it.
This is where you throw molotovs at the district offices or key the Si's car.
Wouldn't this have some sort of negative psychological effect on the children? People need physical contact with each other. It's a scientific fact.
This is going to cause some crazy failure to thrive.
the ban is simply a measure to ensure student safety and not meant to severely punish students for touching.
"We're not trying to severely punish students for touching." "To ensure student safety, we're severely punishing students for touching." The cognitive dissonance going on here is insane. I'm beginning to think the school faculty weren't touched enough as children.
I wonder what goes into the minds of the people that enforce these type of rules. Do they suddenly turn juvenile?
They should just ban recess all together, there are too many risks and safety hazards
I heard the sun can burn your skin and give you cancer. It's best to stay inside under the bright ass fluorescent lights.
