things are about the shittiest they've ever been so you can't say that he's done us any good either.
it's not unless you ignore all history and assume it's the worst it's ever been (which you're doing) and yeah obama's done a lot which a simple google search can provide the evidence for
Deus Ex references.

America has been on top for quite a while and things have been slipping big time. And yeah Obama has done things but considering our current state, it's not anything worth while.

All the big decisions that have to be made go through Congress, and right now it's (the House at least) not exactly cooperative.
sure because you can wish the economy back into health with the house against you ok

The filibusters from the GOP minority didn't help, either. I think not acting on that majority more was a mistake, but I think Obama was more optimistic back then and thought that maybe the GOP would be more friendly come 2010 if he didn't just steamroll over them. Obviously that was a mistake.
things are about the shittiest they've ever been
uh not really I mean sure things are shit but you've got to put things in perspective
Only a straight, white, Christian male would say that the 1900s are preferable to today do you guys believe me now that Paul is an idiot
You know, just putting this out there - just hating things because they're old isn't an argument. Then again he never said he supported it because it's old. He never said the 1900s were preferable, that's clearly a straw-man. I know it's fun and edgy to make fun of Republicans but god damn at least do it right. [editline]e[/editline] herf derf we had legal drugs in the early 1900s nobody wants to go back to that 'regressive' policy
He never said the 1900s were preferable, that's clearly a straw-man.
This is isn't about him thinking everything should be like 1900. When I wrote that in the title, it was in reference to disaster response, not everything. He does say exactly that "It should be like 1900, 1940, 1950, 1960..." in relation to this disaster and the response it deserves.
I'm not really a fan of any of them and I don't get why people on here like Obama so much. I mean news stories come out here every other day giving a new reason why America is going down the shitter so why would you want to keep the same people in office?
Probably has to do with the entire GOP not allowing Obama to do anything, and yeah, Obama is spineless. [editline]28th August 2011[/editline]
I'm not saying that it's all Obama's fault but you can't ignore the fact that things are about the shittiest they've ever been so you can't say that he's done us any good either. People on here are in total denial of what a mistake his presidency was. I mean when you point out other periods in time people are like "Bush fucked it up" or "Reagan fucked it up" but when the country is in the shitter this time everyone is like "Well the president doesn't actually do much so Obama's still okay"
No I'd say the last 8 years were worse shape. [editline]28th August 2011[/editline]
You know, just putting this out there - just hating things because they're old isn't an argument.
herf derf we had legal drugs in the early 1900s nobody wants to go back to that 'regressive' policy
Uh, they were mostly used for medicine. Things like heroin were used but even you can't say it would end well. and only six years later, Cannabis received restrictions in sale. And other drugs weren't even around yet.
