Oh wow, the attitude in this thread is hilarious. Some of you posters would fit right in with Hitler and Stalin.
godwin!!
Saw this in a newspaper, the reason he seems so happy is because he basically lives of morphine.
If it makes his life more enjoyable, it's fine by me. If I was the parent, I couldn't kill him, there is no way I could. This really hits your heartstrings.
Is it just me or does it look like the child is not in pain? I'm sure that it might not add up but maybe it doesn't hurt? Either way, I don't think that killing him is a right thing to do. He might need life long treatment, yes, but he still deserves living. At least until he decides otherwise.
I have a less severe version of the same thing, as for pain, it's comparable to a third degree burn. But as for feeling it, tolerance eventually builds, even if the blisters don't stop. Shit sucks ass.
Saw this in a newspaper, the reason he seems so happy is because he basically lives of morphine.
Oh, I see. Well I still think he has all rights to live like this until he decides otherwise.
ITT everyone thinks they know better than the parents. It warms my heart to see how happy the baby can be, and it's pretty obvious that he's brought a new world of happiness to his mom as well, simply because he's her son, regardless of the tragic circumstances.
Better than the parents AND the Doctors involved in the case.
This makes me regret all those times i've said "Fuck my life" over something small like my headphones breaking or stubbing a toe. Just curious what a less serious version looks like.
It is things like this that makes the idea of having a child so frightening to me.
It is things like this that makes the idea of having a child so frightening to me.
You could always adopt
It's sad. But I just have to say.. Nightmare fuel.
Am I the only person who thinks keeping this kid alive is inhumane, torturous and completely ridiculous? It sounds mean but come on. It's like trying to keep someone alive with Ebola who's clearly not going to make it. 'yes, I know your organs are turning into liquid inside you and it hurts, but we're not allowed to put you down'
Am I the only person who thinks keeping this kid alive is inhumane, torturous and completely ridiculous?
He's on morphine constantly, I doubt he feels any pain, but it does seem inhumane.
Morphine removes the pain for him right?
fuck the parents. allowing this child to live in such pain is child abuse
Yeah, better kill the kid.
Euthanize. Please.
Oh hey it's the same thing jonny kennedy had
I know what you mean, but seeing that he is not laying in the crib crying and wiggling in pain would make that decision very hard, because he's acting like a normal baby too. Laughing and giggling and doing what babies do even though he has a condition that makes it so that he's in constant pain.
That's true, but babies grow up. And as a child he will never fit into normal society no matter how hard he tries and no matter how many people accept him. There's always going to be bullying from others, or just odd looks from passerby.
I'd imagine the parents feel very powerless at the moment. Forgetting the child for a few seconds, the parents are probably going to be scarred for quite some time after this. If ever there was a time to ask "where is our God now?", it is the second the kid slips away.
Shit man, I got all watery eyed at that video. I feel so fucking sorry for him :(
Send him to the international space station for the rest of his life, he'd probably live.
Send him to the international space station for the rest of his life, he'd probably live.
Decent idea, although we have no real idea of long (very long)term effects no gravity has on a person and 2, isn't the ISS getting de-orbited in a few years?
it's difficult to watch, the bruises on his face are ghoulish.
-Snip- Edit: No sense of humor at all...
Despite everything, he's still a pretty damn cute kid. That he's able to smile and jump and clap even through what he's been through is quite amazing.
Those look really painful, he shouldn't have to live like this.
-snip because i'm incredibly retarded-
He's so cute laughing and clapping his hands and moving around He obviously doesn't feel that he's in much pain or perhaps has gotten used to it They should definitely keep him alive
"Prayer's for Tripp."
How about "Grammar for Tripp?"
Goddammit, normally shit like this doesn't affect me, but this is just horrible. Seeing him do that song and do that little dance just broke my fucking heart. I could never kill him, even with that horrible disease.
