People play that card, because regardless of whether it IS legal, it should BE legal. I'd like to know where we got the idea that it was wrong to allow someone to die on their own terms if they so chose. It's their life, their body after all. When a faithful pet grows old and it's body begins to fail, people consider you cruel if you DON'T put them to sleep. The logic is quite sound, so why do so many of us believe it shouldn't apply to our fellow man?
I really got nothing againts euthanasia, I'm all for it if you ask me, but only when the person him/herself is able to make that decision. The baby doesn't realize that it has that option, it doesn't even care. Only thing the baby wants is hugs and kisses from it's parents.
I'll stop taking you seriously now. Put yourself in their position. How would you feel if you were in the hospital with your wife who was giving birth to your child and when it pops out of her vagoo, the doctors would just say "I'm sorry, your baby is terminally ill, we will now kill it"? Oh, that's right none of us can comprehend anything the parents went through.
I believe the suffering of the parents is small potatoes compared to what the child must experience. You're blind if you think it'll be any better for the parents if they try in vain to care for their doomed child, grow attached to it, only for it to die horribly under their care. For ALL parties, it would be better to finish the matter quickly. A miscarriage is a terrible thing, but not quite so terrible as losing your child further down the road. It won't, and shouldn't be forgotten, but the suffering can be lessened all around.

Not I, not you, nor anybody here can truly understand what the parents had to undergo, and judging (hah) by your previous posts, I can't take you seriously. You're 16 years old. Stop trying to act like you understand, because honestly. You've got noooo idea.

Cold as I might seem, my lack of personal attachment allows me to see the proper course of action while others are too close to do so. It is irrelevant that I know the suffering of the parents so long as the minimum level of suffering can be met for all parties. Anything I might glean from getting too close would only compromise my ability to make a sound decision, as social animals like we human beings are prone to emotion, driven by instincts which do not necessarily send us on the correct path, only on the path that tells us that a child should never be separated from its parent, and that no death in the tribe is ever desirable. Logic, above all else, is key.

Not at that age, preferably somewhere around your twenties-thirties maybe.
And that my friend is the reason you have no idea what you're talking about.
pretty much this, I can't even take him seriously after he made the whole, "And the parents, however well-meaning, should have no say in the matter." statement.
This why why I don't believe in god, because no just god would let this sort of thing happen
This why why I don't believe in god, because no just god would let this sort of thing happen
If god made earth a paradise, what's the point of paradise?
This why why I don't believe in god, because no just god would let this sort of thing happen
oh for fucks SAKE don't bring this shit in here.
You could really just go with the simplest answer of gods either a cunt/not real but really let's not do this argument.
If god made earth a paradise, what's the point of paradise?
Roses are red, violets are blue, god isn't here so away with you.
I've seen some ugly painful diseases in my time, from deformities to having your skin turned inside out, crowing an extra mouth and monster-like eyes, but most with the diseases died before their first year. This? The little guy had to go through a lot, in pain, he was still happy, he still learned a lot, he got to experience what was like enjoying something. I'm glad he passed away. I wouldn't want to go through that any longer.
Roses are red, violets are blue, god isn't here so away with you.
Roses are red, violets are blue, totally unrelated text about something I could've said without using the citation.
This why why I don't believe in god, because no just god would let this sort of thing happen
yeah go atheism fuck religion i must mention this everywhere!!
Hey guys guess what This isn't mass debate nor is this debate even relevant to the thread in any non tangential way. So cut that shit out.
I feel both sad and relieved at the same time for that little guy.
Holy shit you people have problems. It's like someone cannot believe in god without someone bitching at them why they think god is stupid. You go on the families blogspot and see religion and try to start shit. Seriously, now I see why atheists have the bad rep they have and it's sad that it's because of certain people. Anyway, like Dysgalt said i feel both sad and relived for the family.

This is not something I need personal experience to understand, and you've yet to back your position up with anything better than appeals to emotion. Emotion should not rule us, because emotion is inseparably tied to instinct, and instinct is not always right. Rip the band-aid off fast, and let the pain end quicker. It is a simple matter and a simple solution.
