I can see this easily going wrong. Such fuck ups include: throwing the wrapper in the trash no where near the original owner's house, going into a gps deadspot, losing the candybar without ever opening it, an animal eating the wrapper (and the gps included)..
So pretty much the same fuck ups as any other promotion that involves a code or something like that being in a candy wrapper?
It's a cool idea I suppose, at least if you open it and it says you've won the money and they're coming to find you there's a pretty high chance someone will actually claim the prize. It solves the problem of people not being arsed entering codes in online anymore... Would have been better to just put a ticket worth X amount of money in the wrappers though!
And they didn't even make a golden ticket...
I remember when coke did this They had to build the entire GPS and Cell Phone within the can and made sure it wasnt activated during transit [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline]
Go to the shop with a metal detector :v:
I once opened a kitkat without any of the wafer inside, just four solid bars of chocolate, the holy grail oh and I like the idea of this, on paper it sounds amazing but with real world flaws such as some old person thinking it's just gone stale and tossing it could mess it up
I had that one but it was a kitkat chunky white so it was even more awesome.
I saw an ad for this and I didn't believe it.
A golden ticket couldn't suffice?
What?
Not for me then. I despise GPS technology. The cat from my friend's neighbour was run over by a car that was going the wrong way because of that wretched GPS!
Interesting, but I don't think it's gonna work in this paranoid time we live in. 20 years ago, sure, they could pull this off, but nowadays people are just going to freak out a bit and probably call the cops on the prizegiver...and then probably sue the company for waaay more than the prize itself.
Well no because this is the UK and we are not insanley paranoid like you guys in America, not to mention we wouldn't sue someone giving us a prize.
Well no because this is the UK and we are not insanley paranoid like you guys in America, not to mention we wouldn't sue someone giving us a prize.
don't you have shitloads of cameras in public places watching you all the time

GPS is an amazing technology.
how are they going to find the person if he throws the wrapper away
How do you win the lottery if you throw away the winning ticket?
I like the plane idea... but im just going to put it on a boat and send it out to sea... Id like to see them speed boat up to it or something.. these winners better get creative and make it a chase >_>
Except they couldn't do it 20 years ago, because the GPS wouldn't fit in a candy bar wrapper.
It still won't fit in the wrapper. It will fit in a bar though.
What?
I'm a man and I'd like to get tracked by GPS technology..

If this makes headlines for somehow coincidentally solving a huge crime because someone who just pulled the biggest heist in history needed a kit kat fix, I'm probably going to give myself a hernia from laughing.
I'll keep the GPS, hook it up to a Raspberry Pi and use it for geohashing.
What?
It's true. I collect GPS equipment.
what if you bite it and break the gps and I don't really see how this is in anyway illegal or "omg tracking people!!!1"
but it literally is tracking people
cctv everywhere sounds p. paranoid to me
It's called recording potential crime. When you're in public you got nothing to hide so what do you care if there are cameras or not. On the other hand if someone robs you, you get video evidence. I actually wish they'd put up cameras around "bad" neighborhoods. Really need that shit here where a crime happens at least once a month if not more.
Not with me. I microwave anything I buy.
Terrifying, But funny
Kit-Kat You can run, but you can't hide.
