I have a feeling the EU has its own version of PRISM
I doubt it. EU doesn't have any EU-wide police force. Imagine an EU-wide intelligence network. Member states would hate handing over their intelligence agencies to Brussels.
Funny you should say that, the EU has flexed its muscles to the USA from time to time just to prove they can (and I like it)
I know that Europe has a different mindset about things like this, but do they really have a history on standing up against the US about these things?
Merkel says she's gonna visit Obama and ask wtf's the deal with PRISM. I don't think we'll be getting anything of substance out of it, but as a political move it sure does the job.
Merkel is fucking scary man, I'm sure she'll at least get a couple of answers.
"US officials say the snooping programme known as Prism, revealed in last week's leaks, is authorised under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (Fisa). It gives the US National Security Agency (NSA) the power to obtain emails and phone records relating to non-US nationals." That makes no sence.... the FISA act they made themselfs gives them power to snoop over everyone else.... so basicly they made a law giving themselfs permission to snoop other countrys? okey!, i give myself permission to snoop into the presidents house and affairs!
oh my god you mean countries actually, like, spy on foreigners and other countries without their permission? this changes everything stop the presses
Considering how international the internet is, I'm surprise we arn't hearing from more countries or groups of countries.
If you consider yourself objective, listen to this.
The thing with these conspiracy theorists is that they go mad about everything, and of course at times they'll be correct but most of it is just rubbish. I just looked up the CALEA thing and it's standard stuff you'd expect the police to be able to do. The NSA scandal is a big deal but we don't need people like him ruining public's opinion on the issue by diluting it with bullshit.
If you consider yourself objective, listen to this.
This is just the same old story, cult leader/conspiracy theorist thinks he has "special knowledge" about the world, and only by subscribing to his channel/watching his videos/drinking the kool aid, can people discover the "truth". "But i'm not a conspiracy theorist like everyone says!! Really!!" Personally i don't listen to anyone. I look at the facts and make my own opinions
It has begun.. http://trollthensa.com I wonder if this will have any effect.
Oh man I was stupid enough to do this years ago. I got a free visit from the men in black.
It has begun.. http://trollthensa.com I wonder if this will have any effect.

"I missed the last class where we learn how to land"
That's like the first class.

The court yesterday rejected a challenge from the U.S. and other non-EU nations that the levy infringes their national sovereignty and violates international aviation treaties. ... The money raised each year by the sale to airlines of the ‘pollution permits’ will go back to the country in which the airline is based, rather than to Brussels. The ECJ rejected an American challenge that the scheme violates the Open Skies treaty prohibition against unilateral taxation or discriminatory treatment.
Basically, we have a green tax on long-distance flights to help preserve the ecology. Of course, America wanted the EU to make an exception for them. After a case in court, the EU Court of Justice told the USA to basically fuck off and pay the tax like everyone else.
oh my god you mean countries actually, like, spy on foreigners and other countries without their permission? this changes everything stop the presses
It shouldn't be allowed to fucking happen, smartass.
Yeah read about it in a danish newspaper. Im quite suprised that our polititians arent ready to sell our freedom to america, They are usually preoccupied with sucking on americas dick.
i wish there was a depressing but true rating
Yeah read about it in a danish newspaper. Im quite suprised that our polititians arent ready to sell our freedom to america, They are usually preoccupied with sucking on americas dick.
ever since we got democracy, we've been lying on our stomach in every war. We never lost wars before that. Our politicians are the biggest pussies in existence.
ever since we got democracy, we've been lying on our stomach in every war. We never lost wars before that. Our politicians are the biggest pussies in existence.
So youd rather have a dictator?
It shouldn't be allowed to fucking happen, smartass.
Well, get back to me when everyone can get along and there's no war or terrorism or any other reason why we might need information.
Well, get back to me when everyone can get along and there's no war or terrorism or any other reason why we might need information.
You do realize the USA is one of the largest funders of terrorism, right? In terms of both motive and finances. We can end terrorism (for the most part) if we wanted to, thinking otherwise is just stupid and naive.
Most likely talking bullshit. Not even the EU has the balls to stand up to the US.
The EU has, if anyone, actually.

Good, we should be concerned. America has no right doing this shit.
We can end terrorism (for the most part) if we wanted to
Statements like that deserve size 40pt bold [CITATION NEEDED] after them. I guess everyone in government must be too dumb to just end Al Qaeda by snapping their fingers or whatever. You should go share your expert knowledge so we can stop getting our people killed in the Middle East.

I would say we should snap our fingers to stop killing THEIR people in the middle east. I mean how far does it have to go? Our government commits democide every day and our news propaganda machine just says "well at least it wasn't an american child that was blown the fuck up by a predator missile strike".
The US has changed SO MUCH in the last 50 years. 50 Years Ago (Andy Griffith Show) Now (The President of the United States)

There are things we could be doing to mitigate the threat of terrorism or avoid further provoking it but the idea that we can just end it whenever we want is completely wrong and the perfect example of stupid armchair politics. [editline]12th June 2013[/editline]
The US has changed SO MUCH in the last 50 years.
What nonsense. Ask your parents about a guy named Joseph McCarthy sometime. Do some research into FBI surveillance on Martin Luther King Jr. Read the reactions to Watergate. All that's changed is the perceived enemy.
Im quite suprised that our polititians arent ready to sell our freedom to america, They are usually preoccupied with sucking on americas dick.
Yeah. Sadly, the game European countries are playing in foreign policy is which European country has the closest relations with Washington. Divide et impera
Forgive the fucking source, because it's shit and fearmongering and anti-EU, but
Thanks!
we are literally worse than stalin
And literally worse than KGB and STASI combined.
