please shut the fuck up and quit generalizing california cops
there are bad lots and good cops, and as always the bad shit is the one that gets attention
sincerely, a californian
I think practically every police brutality case I've read about in the past while was from Cali every time.
Some police departments over there really need to be knocked down a peg.
oh ok so attempting to bite officers isnt a threat at all! nothing like a few doberman love bites to set the mood!
Arguing whether or not the dog did attack the officer is pointless, as this all originated from an unlawful arrest. Hence my earlier post.
The police force attracts so many dog shooting Psychopaths. Every week we have a story where they kill a dog that isn't putting them in any danger.
The rozzers had the right to shoot the dog, it was either let the dog attack an officer and have it put down, or the officer protect himself.
They arrested the guy for no fucking reason, and the dog look like it was protecting the owner.
What the fuck

welcome to sensationalist headlines where people only read the titles
here we have a fine example of this type of poster
I did you think Im random person going thread to thread posting without reading the OP or posts.
yup
I've never had a positive experience with a cop. Almost all of them, at least in my town, are absolute dicks.
Just watched the video, that's enraging. Fuck this. Instant reaction was to arrest someone for legally filming, then twitch-pull a dog when it reacts. Fucking disgusting, this cop should be immediately fired.
smoke w22d get money fuck the po lice
yeah fuck cops!!!
Are you done threadshitting yet?
If I burglarize your home, for instance, and you jump out the window to escape and break your leg, would I not be responsible?
Why is casualties in an unlawful arrest any different?
A lot of british police are wankers too. Only difference is they don't have guns to be stupid with.
Why did I even watch the clip. I knew what was coming :(

The dog is exactly what the point is here at the moment.
Also we don't know if it's an unlawful arrest. The article says he went up to the barricade and was disrupting police officers, and of course, the video only shows when he gets arrested. Which I can see, as a lot of people come up and always go. "Hurdur, police brutality. Police are pigs." Even if a guy just got through beating up a twelve year old. I'd also like to point out the fact that they had SWAT there as well, so something important was obviously going on. So you shouldn't be going up and talking to them.
Now, I'm going to leave this thread, as it's going to become a shit storm of emotion over reason and boxes.

well to be fair they do also wear giant tits on their heads so at least you get a good bit of forewarning

I actually read the article and watched the video. The dog just jumped. He didn't have to shoot.
Edit: From a second watch I can see that the dog may have been trying to bite the officer. I was a bit caught up the when the dog was dying.
This thread will only be about whether the dog attacked him or not and if the cops were right or not. It probably was the heat of the moment and everyone acted without thinking of the consequences. It happens a lot and though I do feel sorry for the dog there is unfortunately nothing to do about it.
Also, american cops are always in the headlines for the worst reasons. Maybe there aren't good news being reported or somebody needs to act about it.

Yeah it just jumped

with it's mouth open possibly trying to bite him
That was slightly hard to watch the dog get shot like that, I feel real bad for the owner to see that happen right in front of him. Don't even know why he was being detained in the first place, unless if those cops are really adamant on not being filmed I guess.
None of us were there.
None of us know the full story.
I've been around dogs aggressive and not all of my life, he was defending his owner in an aggressive manner.
The shooting of the dog, though sad, was in self-defense: but it stringed off of the (based on the video footage we can observe)unlawful arrest of the man.
Damn, he shouldve closed the windows a bit more.
Isn't it against the law to film someone without permission?(At least here in Germany)
I mean, he aimed directly at the two officers with his camera and it looked like a kind of provocation to me.
..Just my two cents.

I'm pretty sure no country has a law where it's illegal to film people in a public place.

It's only legal in the UK if you either:
1) Film people as part of a crowd or
2) Have their permission or
3) Person is not recognisable from the film or
4) Permission is implied (e.g. photographer hired for a wedding); or the person sees the camera and makes no attempt to stay out of shot.
"Dog protects owner so deserves to be shot."

Police are also public servants and should not have any issue being filmed by the public they serve. And if they do I would personally recommend a change in their career.
Was that a "proper use of force"
