Does the fact that plot of the games in MGS actually relies on release order go over your head or something?
Release order or bust.
I've been hoping for it to be announced around GDC for a while now. I don't normally get all hyped over predictions, but to me, the timing on this feels right. I hope the PC version isn't delayed or anything!
Lets hope for a simultaneous PC and Console release date as well!

I hope you mean release order. MGS just won't make sense if you play them in chronological order
Bad advice for metal gear, You'll be missing out on so many little nods and references to the other games.
When I said chronological order, I meant the order that they were released. The chronological order of the game releases.
Hey, I can also make mistakes with word meanings and translations. English isn't my native language!

Oh, sorry if I sounded rude then :)
Yeah I would recommend playing them in release order for the first time, you can also skip MG1&2 and portable ops
I like playing them in chronological order when I do my yearly marathon though
Peace Walker is not a sequel to MGS4. MGS4 is near the end (THE end if you don't include MGR:R). Peace Walker is a sequel to 3, in terms of story.
But yeah, don't be like me; play them in release order.
Peace Walker makes heavy reference to MGS4 but that's really the only reason I said it was a sequel to it.
I don't see why people are ripping on deathtrooper, realistically you should play the franchise as Metal Gear Solid 3, Peace Walker, MGS 5, MGS 1, 2, 4 since that's the order of the story.
Yeah it would be pretty awesome bouncing around from the PS2 to the PS4 to the MSX to the PS1 back to the PS2 then to the PS3. Yeah that's a great idea not just starting at the beginning of the MGS
series on the PS1 then progressing to the PS4
Don't be an idiot start at MGS1 or MG1

Alternatively there's the Legacy collection which allows you to play everything up to GZ and TPP on one console.
This and Doom (most likely in 2016 if we're being realistic) are the only two mainstream titles that I'm actually hype for this year.
I honestly wasn't expecting this to release until fall 2015, so a summer release would be a nice surprise.
Wanna bet this'll be for a second wave of Puma track suits?
dunno, id really haven't shown that they can create a competent videogame in a long time, esp w/ all the reports from ex-employees saying the management was absolutely awful
The QuakeCon demo was closed doors, most of the people there were hardcore oldschool Doom fans. From what we've heard so far, it's quite a bit like Doom 1 and 2.
Quick question if i get this game, do i need to play other MGS games in order to play this one?
Yes. At the very absolute least, MGS3. Thats bare minimum. MGS3+PW+GZ(you can just watch GZ for story) are pretty much 100% needed. But you really should play all of the MGS all in release order.
