People think SJWs are bad but at least they're too fucking stupid to get into government, compare with hardcore conservatives who worm their way into office on the backs of people who were never taught to think critically and then take unholy sums of money from private interests and pat themselves on the back because "Hey, I'm supporting the free maaaarket!" while their supporters americlap in the stands.
Edit: To clarify, I'm disugsted with the direction politics have gone in general over the course of the past few years or so, but holy fucking hell the American right is really a doozy right now.
Trump University has nothing to do with his plans for the US education system. It was a dumb half scam self-help seminar type thing.

And you trust this man to """reform""" the education system?
Jesus christ

You trust a "half scammer"?
You're a genius

Lmao you are ducking delosuional, trump doesn't give 2 shits about education, and his policies are horrible.
He drained the swamp and replaced it with fucking mordor.... this was a blatant bribe.

This is evidence how dangerous he is concerning anything to do with education but no, you just say you don't have all the answers. For politics to work properly you're supposed to be well informed about every aspect of who it is you're voting for, and no this doesn't involve voting for parts of a policy. The better choice would be to not vote at all in such an event, or vote third party, but this fails thanks to the FPTP system and the electoral college.
half scam or whole scam, this is not only immoral, its fucking illegal, you elected this conman and you'd damn well better realize he's going to fuck everybody, not just the liberals.

And there it is.
You trusted a scammer to be a president and to guide this nation for a minimum of 4 years. Do you see how big of a fuck up that is?

He won't realize it, his confirmation bias will find a way to justify it all, even when the fuckin west coast is underwater thy will find a way.
Guys, it was just a half scam, not a full one. He only scammed poor, hopeful people a little bit.
See the thing is Pantz, you seem to be developing this "victim" complex which your side is so adamantly against.
We're not going to sit here and provide you a safe space that you probably so woefully despise.
We're asking you why you think this person is a good pick for the future of a nation's education, which will solely deteriorate until this regime is ousted.
But supporters like you are the only reason why these type of people have power and influence.
Justifying things left and right, "since potato chips are made of potatoes and potatoes are vegetables, this is healthy eating" can only get you so far.
You probably know the words "History repeats itself" and "The victors write history", so using her track record, can you explain to us why she is a good pick for the Department of Education.
Also, can you explain to us why she will be a good conduit for Donald "I never read the things I sign" Trump's education reforms?
I mean, if he can't even be arsed to read who he is appointing as one of his trusted advisers, how do you trust him enough to read the reform he wants to puts into place?
Like, I'm genuinely curious.
I'm sure she will have plenty of qualified educators around herself to advise. It's her policies that count in my opinion.
This is inredebly naive.
Now he won't respond anymore lol

There'll be a defender that comes to this thread every once in a while parading "free speech" and "you guys are too tough on him lol"
Ironically, by doing this, they're being hypocrites.
Call them out, enough of this beating around the bush bullshit you guys typically do.
I guarantee you some imbecile will come in here, post something about being too tough, being personally victimized, "muh free speech", etc etc endless irredeemable bullshit.
And you know what will happen?
The person they are defending and some other staunch supporters will sit back and star their post as a means to justify that their way of thinking is correct and feed into their own echo-chamber.
I know, words are powerful, and they hurt when they're truthful; but if you can't face them without getting assmad, then get the fuck out of "grown-up" discussion.
You have no place in deciding America's future, sorry daddy's money can't buy respect, fucking hacks.

her policy to defund public education, give that tax money to private entities without holding them to federal standards, & gut special needs protections?
lmao he just realised that he admitted to supporting a "scammer" in his own words.
As much as I disagree with Pantz, until he finds it prudent to respond, let's get back on the actual topic.

Hell, I wouldn't even go so far as to say that. We're practicing our free speech to argue, it's Trump supporters who have a whole fucking subreddit where you get banned for not kowtowing to glorious leader, rofl.
What's the word for that again, I think it was 'safe space'?
[editline]7th February 2017[/editline]
But in all seriousness I'm glad that I'm almost through education at least. I feel sorry for future students though.

Debating why DeVos is the worst possible choice isn't being on topic?
This is a good day for America. Sessions will be another step up.
Great day to open a coal mine or a 19th century textile factory you mean.
Someone's gotta employ those useless degenerates who "can't afford" schooling, that way they don't grow up to be lazy *spits on the ground* poor people like their parents are.
edit: wow, apparently there's 3 pages of people giving this guy the buff. Okay, disregard then?
Debating why DeVos is the worst possible choice isn't being on topic?
Nah, it is, it's just not on topic to keep talking about someone who might have checked out of the argument. Better to discuss the topic at hand than the people involved in the discussion.
Debating why DeVos is the worst possible choice isn't being on topic?
It is, but there's 0 point in continuing to shit on someone who isn't even reading your posts lol. It also turns this into a "TUDD ANSWER THIS" thread which we don't need more of.

Dude. If you're trolling you need to be banned. If you're serious, you are the unintelligent voter lead by blind ignorance.
I'm just sitting here in my American chair, in my American home, paying my American taxes, driving an American truck (for moving), buying from American businesses, and talking to my American friends.
And as I sit, I wonder, if peaceful or political protest doesn't work or even make the other side acknowledge the peoples' concerns, what will?

I dunno. People dying, maybe. But considering there have been one or two deaths as a result of the immigration ban already, I dunno how effective that'd be either.

Revolution would work better than assassination in this case, since the political system itself is so deep in putrid shit.
Plus the death toll and economic damage from a revolution would be smaller than the one from a Trump presidency.

i want to put this on a plaque and hang it above my fireplace.
this right here is the epitome of blind support and voter ignorance. you are -actually- saying that the scam university (which you admit is a scam) has nothing to do with what he wants to do with the education system.

i think this is a vast exaggeration. trump will cause major social and voting rights damage as well as unprecedented damage to our foreign relations but the damage he will do to the economy will not be nearly as much as a full-blown overthrow of the government- an act which will create a huge amount of uncertainty in all sectors of the nation.
this is not to say that trump does not possess the potential to destroy our economy
You guys angry?

I wanted to go look up those 'deaths' because of how ridiculously far-fetched that sounded, and this was at the top of this article.
UPDATE, 3:54 pm: The leader of a Dearborn, Michigan mosque confirmed to Fox 2 Detroit that Hager lied about his mother dying because of Trump’s ban. Imam Husham Al-Hussainy told the station that Hager’s mother actually died five days before Trump signed the executive order. We have updated the headline of the story to reflect this new information.
So?
I guess we need real deaths maybe? Or deaths people care about? Or maybe we need to lie about more deaths to create the illusion of more damage before real damage is done?
I don't know.
We probably shouldn't go crazy over imagined damages, in particular when people are actively fabricating damages though. That's my take away.

I've talked about this before but the truly scary part about all of this is that the existing partisan divide between the left and the right in America that has been growing steadily over the years has grown enormously in the past year or so. Trump's victory and subsequent bashing of the "lugenprasse" is driving a wedge between reality and the rights' interpretation of reality. We have come to the point where as a democratic society we can't even reach a consensus on the facts anymore. Even assuming Trump is a great president that creates more wealth and stability for the country, I fear for the long term consequences of his and his supporters "the means justify the ends" strategy of slash and burn politics.
