• Religion No Longer Offers Break on Airport Screening, TSA Says

My religion is about legal marijuana. Where are my human rights?
Unfortunately, Muslims are the ones most likely to commit a terrorist act as of now.
Since there are a statistically smaller amount of atheists in jail, does that mean I can just pass screening altogether?
then what was it about
Obviously, it was a completely valid and expectable response in regards to the far-grosser evils perpetrated by the West. That'll teach 'em!
While i think airport security is kinda pointless i do think that using your religion to get out of it is even dumber. I wonder if i can say I dont have to stop at stop signs because its my religion?
My religion says I am not allowed to adhere to exemptions of religious freedom though no scan please thank you
Recreation? Since when does religion amuse people? Religion shouldn't influence how a country is run, you are correct, and that's the separation of church (well, church in the case of the USA) and state. Religion should be able to influence society, why the heck shouldn't it?
You fucking :doh:ass. Take a fucking look outside. The state we are in today, with a group of child molesters trying to pull us back to the 14th century while simultaneously being above the law and raping the uneducated for their beliefs and money. That is why it should influence society. That, and the fact that it is holding back scientific progress, many, many, many religious groups look down on and oppose embryonic stem cell research, you know why? Because by opposing it, they gain power with their massive horde of minions, because that shows, 'Oh yeah, science? Well, we're going to sanction your research by having our 43% of America strong group to look down on it.' Religion should have disappeared a long time ago.
Religion should be able to influence society, why the heck shouldn't it?
Because religion is inherently conservative and conservative societies are stagnant
Because blindly rushing towards "progress" regardless of the moral cost is the utopian ideal we need.
You hate organized religion as a whole because some people can get away with things? Organized religion has brought people together and provides social services (including schooling and care for the ill and old).
It's also responsible for more deaths than anything else
Disclaimer: I'm Muslim so I'm allowed to make uneducated statements regarding anything related to Islam.
disclaimer: i'm atheist so i'm allowed to call other atheists retards hey facepunch retards
Because blindly rushing towards "progress" regardless of the moral cost is the utopian ideal we need.
I am agnostic. I have morals. Therefore it's possible that we might not need religion to actually provide morals.
Actually if we make the screening staff female all problems would go away. Men don't object to being looked at/felt up by women and women don't mind being screened by other women. And please stop arguing about religion. That is so 18th century.
Because blindly rushing towards "progress" regardless of the moral cost is the utopian ideal we need.
Blindly rushing is only something religious people and old age scientists would do. Scientists nowadays plans, simulates and THEN does the experiments.
Good.
then what was it about
Defense Trial Exhibit 941 from the trial United States v. Zacarias Moussaoui Criminal No. 01-455-A states the following: [release]Sheikh Mohammed said that the purpose of the attack on the Twin Towers was to "wake the American people up." Sheikh Mohammed said that if the target would have been strictly military or government, the American people would not focus on the atrocities that America is committing by supporting Israel against the Palestinian people and America's self-serving foreign policy that corrupts Arab governments and leads to further exploitation of the Arab/Muslim peoples.[/release]
It's also responsible for more deaths than anything else
Actually it's not. Money, power, influence, territory, trade, greed. They've killed many more people than 'religion'. Just because the church had people killed and started alot of wars don't mean that simple colonialism/slave trade didn't kill vastly more people. However, it's also true that some of these acts were committed by religious people. But that's like saying atheism is bad because atheists have started wars (No need to mention their names, right?) So lets end this ridiculous fight between the two.
Because blindly rushing towards "progress" regardless of the moral cost is the utopian ideal we need.
Religion doesn't teach morality what makes you think that it does
What about health risks? Like getting cancer from the excessive amounts of xrays being used with those machines?
It should have been like this to start off, why should you be prejudice and say because your from this religion you can avoid the security measures designed to keep the other passengers safe. Especially when it is the stereotypical religion for terrorism on planes denying the scans/searches.
About time
There goes the Muslims get out of free card.
Because blindly rushing towards "progress" regardless of the moral cost is the utopian ideal we need.
Where did I say, 'Blindly rush towards progress regardless of the moral cost' and wouldn't progress be associated with morals, of which religion is absent? Quit putting words in my mouth.
What are people who are transgendered and not "out" yet supposed to do, if they don't want complete strangers or people they know with them to know what genitals they have?
I think you should just come out.
disclaimer: i'm atheist so i'm allowed to call other atheists retards hey facepunch retards
i'm not a retard!
i'm not a retard!
Son.
And it shouldn't either.
How about we just don't do these stupid screenings?
How about we just don't do these stupid screenings?
Boom.
what religion bans screenings?
The Church of Kaboom.
Boom.
Yes, because having your junk fondled is the only thing keeping American air tavel safe.
Religion shouldn't be used as an excuse for anything (and definitely shouldn't be enforced in certain countries, which it is, but that's another matter). Though the airport screenings really are disturbing as hell if they try to get a feel and search for an under-wear bomber. Personally, I'd rather have a security dog sniff my crotch for 20 minutes than some fat guy feel me up at an airport for 3 minutes. It's disturbing man. Screening can be a nice new job for perverts and pedophiles I guess. Besides, some people used to carry supplies within their body (drug smugglers/etc.), nothing is gonna stop a terrorist from doing so, so using machines that scan through of touching people's junk is less disturbing and might be more effective.
